Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Urgent: Tesco now giving 4,800 Avios / 5,000 Flying Club miles with Diablo III purchases

Yesterday was one of those odd days.

On Friday night I wrote an article about pre-ordering video game Diablo III from Tesco Direct which was offering 1,000 bonus Clubcard points (2,400 Avios).

When I woke up on Saturday morning, with the post live, the bonus was down to 500 points and the deal didn’t make sense financially.  I was very grumpy (I can change the site but I can’t recall 1,200 emails).

Then, during the day, it went up again.  Not to 1,000, but to 1,500 Clubcard points.

And now, it is giving 2,000 bonus points per copy.

2,040 Clubcard points – over 5,000 Avios in total – is a great deal for a £40 video game which should resell for £30 on eBay with little trouble.

Do NOT order more than one per person as Tesco has, of late, been cancelling multiple orders.  Remember the Dan Brown book etc.

It’s crazy what’s going on with this offer, I wonder why they are doing this. Anyway I’ve just pre-ordered a copy and got the 2,040 points. The extra code didn’t work, it told me it was attached to another accont and only that account could use it.

  • Paul says:

Thanks, Raffles. I’ve just ordered for the 2000pt bonus, too. I wonder whether a (separate) purchase of the XBox (cf. PS3) game would be a way around your warning not to chance more than one order per person.

    • Mitpat474 says:

I have ordered both, in reality you could well have a ps3 and xbox 360 :), also I think it was mentioned in the previous post about the games having different release dates if that could be a factor.

      • Rob says:

The stated December date for the XBox is wrong, they both come out on the same dat

    • xcalx says:

If you order two in the same transaction the points drop to 3000 for some reason.

      • Rob says:

That’s because 1,000 of the 2,000 is an extra bonus for spending £35 on preorder games. You only get this once per order.

  • Dominic says:

Yup – still working at 8.30. Thank you, again, Raffles!

  • Paul says:

Thanks Raffles. The 2 x 500 points also seems to be working on other pre-order games for example GTA V. Obviously not as lucrative as Diablo with its 1000 bonus points though.

  • Mitpat474 says:

Does it actually state one per customer anywhere for these in particular

  • KimJoi says:

No PlayStation console at home but ordered the game anyway (for the 2040 CC points) …

    Thanks Raffles.

  • Dev says:

Done! Although voucher code did not work.

  • Howard says:

    Raffles. You are brilliant!!

    Thanks

    Regards
    Howard
