British Airways adds three new airport lounges in Innsbruck, Ibiza and Seville

Back in September, we published a list of British Airways European destinations which did not offer lounge access.

There are some airports on the British Airways network which simply do not have an airport lounge, as I found out in Pula, Croatia last Summer.  There isn’t much British Airways can do about this.

There are others, however, where there is a lounge but British Airways simply refuses to pay for it.  There were some where BA’s sister company, Iberia, was happy to pay but BA was not.

Yesterday British Airways announced some good news.  Lounge access is now available at three of the airports on the list:

Innsbruck (we covered the opening of that lounge here)

Ibiza (Anika reviewed the lounge here)

Seville

You can now access the lounges at these airports if you are flying in Club Europe, or are flying in Euro Traveller with a suitable status card.

The campaign continues though.

These airports have a lounge which BA won’t pay for but you can use a Priority Pass instead:

Lanzarote ACE

Cagliari/Elmas CAG

Catania/Fontanarossa CTA

Madeira FNC

Heraklion International Nikos Kazantzakis HER

Humberside HUY

Mykonos JMK

John Paul II International Krakow-Balice KRK

Palermo/Punta Raisi PMO (landside)

Paphos International PFO

Thessaloniki Macedonia International SKG (as of 1st July 2017)

Split SPU

Rhodes – Diagoras International RHU

Tallinn TLL

These airports have a lounge which BA won’t pay for and which only accept cash, not Priority Pass / Lounge Club:

Brindisi/Casale BDS

Bordeaux-Merignac BOD

Bari/Palese International BRI

Dalaman International DLM

London City Airport LCY (in the Private Jet Terminal)

Finally, here is a reminder of British Airways-served airports which have no lounge at all so you can’t blame BA for not letting you in:

Bergen, Flesland Airport BGO

Chania International Airport CHQ

BOD lounge is laughable, worth a search for reviews.

They give you a €10 voucher for food and drink at the cafe which, being French, was very good.

  • IanMacK says:

Good news on Innsbruck. Flew back out of there early January – no lounge access as BA hadn’t signed the deal at (and INN airport is pretty minimalist).
In and out of INN week after next so looking forward to lounge for return flight.

  • Nick says:

What about a list of lounges that a CE will definitely get you in?

    • AndyR says:

What do you mean? The list above is exactly that.

    • Lumma says:

      https://www.oneworld.com/ffp/lounge-access

Search for the airport on there. You’ll get into any lounge that requires sapphire or better on a Club Europe ticket.

      • Mzungu says:

I don’t think that’s actually the whole picture – for example if you use that link to check FNC, it shows the lounge available for “Business Class / First Class / Sapphire Tier / Emerald Tier”. But above that, it also states “Access for eligible customers traveling on these oneworld member airlines only.” with an Iberia logo. I fell foul of this a year or so back, and was denied access as silver on BA flight.

  • Phil T says:

Porto has a lounge – no BA access. I got in with Lounge Club

  • Dicksbits says:

    What about Granada

  • ankomonkey says:

Dalaman/DLM has a lounge you can enter with Priority Pass but not Lounge Club (as of October 2017). No idea if BA CE passengers get access, but this article suggests not.

  • Pam Peers says:

on a recent trip from Naples, the third party lounge was not open due to strike action … BA was offering business class passengers, including us, a voucher for 8 Euros in compensation! As I have pointed out to BA in an email, this was not enough to pay for a sandwich and a bottle of water, let alone the level of refreshments normally available in a business class lounge. Two and a half weeks later, I am still waiting for a BA response

    • Myer says:

Don’t hold your breath, they are not interested.

    • mutley says:

Absolutely BA are not interested. I complained to BA about being stranded in Germany with family for two days, after light snow at Heathrow in early December. I am still waiting for BA to cough up for hotel costs; 52 days and counting……….

  • Lynn says:

Cardiff airport doesn’t currently accept one world
