Earn 250 Avios when dining at restaurants – now finally launched

Back in September 2016 Rob wrote about Restaurant Circle, a new restaurant booking portal that would let you earn Avios when making a reservation.

It was set to launch in October but kept being delayed.

Now it’s finally live.

Avios restaurant circle

You will earn 250 Avios every time you make a restaurant booking through the portal.

How does it work?

You need to create a Restaurant Circle account and add your Avios or BA Executive Club membership number to your profile.

If you live in Ireland, you can add an AerClub number.  There are a large number of Irish restaurants included.

For every booking you make via the Restaurant Circle site, you will receive 250 Avios.  As long as you turn up for your reservation (!), the Avios will be added to your account within two weeks.

Where can I dine and earn Avios?

You can search for restaurants on the Restaurant Circle website by postcode, city or restaurant name.

There is a decent selection of restaurants included although it is not as comprehensive as, say, OpenTable or even ResDiary, the company that runs Restaurant Circle.  This is because restaurants have to pay an extra fee to Avios when you dine. Included is, for example, my favourite brunch place in Clapham, Ben’s Canteen.

You can read more about this new partnership on the British Airways website here.

2 restaurants listed for the whole of Manchester! This is pointless, they should have delayed it even further…

  • RussellH says:

One place in Newcastle, two in Manchester, quite a few in Liverpool. Nothing in CA, PR or DG postcode areas. One in LA (Lancaster – not somewhere noted for its cooking…). A few in Glasgow, but nothing in FK either.

    Not encouraging!

  • Cate says:

Come on, all you have to do is sign up and let it tick in the background. If you’re travelling through somewhere that has availability then you’re 250 avios better off! 🙂

    • Fenny says:

if there’s nowhere to use it on a regular basis, remembering to check *and book in advance* when you’re travelling is likely to not happen.

  • Fenny says:

Wow! There’s actually one place listed near me and it’s actually somewhere I’ve eaten sometime in the last 17 years (but more than 15 years ago).

  • Andy says:

What a joke. They’d have been better keeping it under wraps until they got more restaurants on board. This just makes them look silly

  • TGLoyalty says:

8 in a 50 km distance of Coventry. None in either Coventry or Birmingham. Don’t think I will be collecting many Avios through this

  • Snickolai warlovaga says:

Just searched ALL of London, 20km radius and only 8 places showed up LOL

  • Ed says:

Hmm, I just happened to have dinner at a restaurant listed on the website the day before this post. It’s the only restaurant listed in a 20km radius. The irony.
