Finally reached 200k avios! 2 and a half years since I started collecting. Got 20k Nectar, half way to a 241 and OH has 45k MR on her account so we can get to Australia when it finally opens. 40k HH and 80k IHG, thanks HfP collective 🙂
Amateur by some standard but just an average guy and never gone too far out of the way to get points, other than retention bonuses!

There is also a lot of good things about Islamic / Arab countries, they generally treat disabled people as truly equals…
but yes it is not perfect, neither are we though…

Rob and Rhys said STK steakhouse is great, great decor and “views” 😉

We have a few stays next year booked so the run may be worth it. Checking on hotels in South Wales. Cheapest is £60…
Open table for restaurant bookings where you would do it normally is your best bet then unless you actually need the hotels

Also Amy C, do you have a pilot license? It’s a really cool pic 🙂
Thank you, for the info. Yes I do, not that it’s been much use lately. I’m actually only allowed to fly with another pilot currently as didn’t keep my hours up 🤦♀️[/quote]
Nice! It’s an awesome photo. Sure you can get it back when Covid has slowed down again 🙂

Does anyone really have enough time to learn all the terminology that FT use? I took one look and it makes the whole Bendy Beardy and Che look like armatures.
Easy solution: Find yourself a friend with a BA Hotline account and sign up to simply flying, much easier and saves a lot of time. Yes probably not as as cheap as you can get but who cares

Cineworld share price looking good at the moment, 45p per share. Yes it has a big debt pile but I don’t think interest rate rises are likely until mid next year at the earliest. Good pipeline of movies for over Christmas, mainly Spiderman no way home and Matrix 4. I can’t see the Cineplex case going against them and UK booster campaign should build consumer confidence to go to the cinema by January.
Thoughts?

Data point on passport times:
Used paper form check and send on 19th of Nov, a Friday so held until Monday in the safe at the post office. Out for delivery today. So 24 days / 21 days depending on the sent date you useRob / Rhys: No idea where this should go

You’d have to a mattress run to get the points, points only post after the stay. A cheapo HIX should do the job. Points are ex-VAT and concerted into USD. 10 per $. Can’t remember if the welcome bonuses are qualifying points
Also, IHG have an unlabeled version of Open Table, never used it but I think it qualifies

They have Paypoint machines and accept Amex for all transactions.
Best used for paying Council Tax etc. if they don’t accept Amex directly
Also Amy C, do you have a pilot license? It’s a really cool pic 🙂

I used to have a life jacket and windscreen wiper from a 747, perks of knowing the right people I guess! Had to throw them away when moving house though 😔
I also learnt that it’s really really difficult to put a life jacket on quick enough to be useful in a nose dive type situation (20 seconds)

I would highly recommend Siam Park, a massive water park with a lot to do for all ages
