FWIW – I think having a daily thread in a forum is redundant.

Dump the daily thread, Fix the reply/quote issue (have only quote), Have the default link take you to recent topics, and you’re on your way.

Have the ability to subscribe to threads, email notifications, skip straight to the most recent unread message when you open a thread, jump to reply box when you quote to reply and you’re on to a winner.

The systems shouldn’t let you apply for a second, as soon as you start the application, based on your details, it is meant to recognise you already have the paid card.

No need to panic JDB, nothing dubious here, it’s simply trying to avoid fuel surcharges, book two singles instead of a return, book an open jaw to a neighbouring city, that type of thing.

Pretty certain this is not in theirs Ts & Cs, they’ve just made that up. It is also a matter of fact that I was still initially awarded points after the letter was issued, and those points transferred. Only on the 2nd statement after did they not transfer (but their communications, online and pdf statement) both continued to show points “awarded”

Yes but there are still places that don’t take Amex, so a good non Amex in the wallet is always a good idea.

When clicking a thread is there anyway to make it jump to the most recent unread comment, which will be personal to each user? Something I’ve found useful on other forums.

Personally I find the indented replies hard to get on with in a forum (though works well for the chat thread), that should be what quoted replies are for. Agree with everyone else though that the quoted replies don’t distinguish well enough

Cash advance fees are the main issue. Interest charges can be avoided/minimised with immediate payment, but many (most?) cards dont let you avoid a cash advance fee. Saying that I do need to trial run/small test payments from my remaining cards to see what is possible.

Need an alternative to top up Che. Everyone seems to charge cash advance fees. Solihull’s rubbish IT was good for many uses!
