Definitely. The B lounge is much less of a zoo. Walk or transit is fine, I’d walk it all, very cool and pleasant in the tunnels and good for a stretch before flying.

Also since there was nobody down there it was a nice quiet place to stretch my legs and take my mask off for a little while without being outside in the cold and rain. There are 2 sets of 4 chairs between B and C gates.

Anyone done a Halo recently during normal hours and any expectation on how long the results took please? The wording keeps changing (the window is getting bigger) on the site. We are coming back from NYC on Xmas day morning and were hoping to go straight to my parents near Heathrow after doing an LFT as soon as we jump in the car, but since the changes we have been looking for a 3hr PCR which no one seems to be doing for this new 2 day arrivals test. Halo seems to be the best available option currently, so have paid our money and will have to see.

Took 4 hrs 40 mins to come through after testing at 11am on Sunday. I was still in galleries south waiting for my connection, isolating in the corner with several glasses of red.

No idea if they’ll be as quick in the lab in xmas day.

I had 7 hours to kill yesterday. Take the lift down to level -4, walked all the way to C to relieve the boredom and then back to B. Spent about 5 hours in the lounge there partaking of BA’s wine and then walked back to A for my flight.

Tip from the lounge dragon (who was really nice) – Dont get the train back to A at any point as you’ll end up in arrivals and not departures, go back via the tunnel.

Never more than 20 people in Galleries South all afternoon despite a pretty full load of US flights going out from B. Table sevice very quick – QR code ordering by table number. All drinks, coffee and biscuits are self service.

Probably a stupid question but I’m flying to Portugal on a Monday at 17:30 and my return flight is on Wednesday at 10:30, can I use my departure test as my return test if I do the test on the Monday?

Yes – See https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-testing-for-people-travelling-to-england Taking your test before travel

It depends on the airline. Lufthansa and Finnar (and I believe Austrian) ban any type of cloth masks and the cabin crew/gate staff will provide you with a disposable medical mask. I was sitting down waiting for a Lufty flight and was challenged just as I was about to swap my cloth one for an FFP2

On my flight to Cyprus this week BA were offering both wipes and disposble masks on as we boarded. Ah I remember the old days when it was sweeties on boarding.

In Cyprus at the moment, NIPD Genetics 5 euro for a walk in antigen test no appt needed. Remember to ask staff for a certificate to travel in English. There are airport options for 15 euro but I feel it’s better to get it the day before.
