Virgin Voucher Trigger

How can you tell when your voucher has triggered with the VCC? I’m pretty sure I either have or am pretty close.
Amex let you know right away by email and by dropping the voucher into your BAEC account right away.
I’m hoping VCC are as user/customer friendly
    *fingers crossed

No notifications at all. Look in the Virgin Red app.
Use the Account menu (bottom right of screen)
Account > Activity > look for a line with 0 points that says “You have qualified for a credit card reward voucher”

That’s it. No other details visible about expiry or anything.

Redeeming it isn’t easy either. You have to phone them. I held the line for nearly an hour last week (not that bad, admittedly) to try to use it towards a cabin upgrade, only to discover it’s not applicable on Delta flights, which is fair enough. I just wish they’d mention that in their terms and conditions. I fed it back to the call handler. Hopefully, it’ll reach the right team.

Presumably you can redeem on WhatsApp too?

Isn’t it widely published that it’s no applicable on anything but VS metal?

Don’t bank on getting it. They still owe me mine from October and I have had to take it to the financial ombudsman. I’m probably just very unlucky though and you’ll be fine.

No, I don’t think so. Unlike BA, who make it very clear about vouchers being used on their metal, I am unaware of Virgin making it clear anywhere. Their terms do indeed mention their partner airlines in the context of lounge redemptions, but not upgrades or 2-4-1 partner redemptions. That’s partly why I thought my upgrade might be allowed, otherwise why not mention partners for all three redemption types? I think the whole process needs to be managed and communicated much better, because it’s not at all joined-up, and I fed back as much to the call handler.

Not just you, we have the same issue. Voucher should have been awarded in May but just hasn’t appeared. Flying club claim its Virgin Money’s fault, Virgin money claim its flying club.

Getting in touch with anyone on either side is painful to say the least. I think if the current investigation fails then it might be the financial ombudsman for us too.
