Old Avios Rewards Balances (Not BAEC)

For anyone who used to have an Avios Account before it was merged into BA Executive Club a few years ago – you might want to check if any remaining balances from canceled flights or credit card transfers was properly transferred to your BA Account.

I discovered recently that a flight cancellation that was refunded to my defunct Avios account had not been automatically transferred over to BA. A phone call to BA with the details (the Avios Reference number starting with ISS helped) got it resolved surprisingly swiftly.

It’s about three years since they merged accounts so might be coming up for expiry if you are not careful. I managed to recover about 80,000 Avios.

Pity the old obsolete paper AirMiles vouchers can’t be resurrected…I’ve still got a few hundred !
