FRANCE – acceptable tests

Looking for some clarity re testing requirements to France. As per the embassy website:
Self-administred tests, whose results are not certified by a laboratory (e.g.: tests provided free of charge by the NHS) are not considered valid for travel.

While it is obvious that NHS test isn’t valid for travel, I am not so sure how to interpret “not certified by a laboratory”. Can I still use say Chronomics who “certifies” the picture of the test casette?

Also very interested to hear other people’s understanding! There’s no mention that the test has to be carried out by a medical professional, only that it has to be certified. Surely this is the purpose of these ‘remote return’ tests HOWEVER Prenetics specifically state that theirs isn’t suitable for France.

I’d say yes, the likes of Chronomics or SimplyTestMe are exactly the sort of lateral flow which is permitted.

You would think that after 2 years of testing that clear rules could be provided. It’s the uncertainty of being sent home at border control that is more stressful than the concern over catching covid.
