We are running this daily chat thread on Head for Points during the coronavirus outbreak.

Historically, the daily ‘Bits’ articles were the de facto repository for random comments and questions.  With the news flow being lighter, we are running fewer ‘Bits’ articles.

The comments under this article are where you should post questions about travel and, indeed, anything else on your mind.

Please only comment under the main articles on the site if your comment is directly related to the topic of the article.  This has long-term benefits as it keeps the commentary relevant for people who read those articles in the future.

    Reference point for anyone looking for day 2 tests- used express test drive through at LHR t4, all done very quickly and results through same day in 12 hours . Was no problem turning up an hour later too as flight was delayed .

    Is there any way to speak to a Virgin Atlantic agent/get matter resolved without going through the shocking 2 hours call centre wait (that they themselves have put on their website.) I need to visit an ill relative this weekend and cash prices are very high. I transferred Amex points 5 days ago (account linked and previously used) but despite long calls and whatsapp messages, the answer is still the same that the loyalty team will add them. I also boosted my miles and they too haven’t arrived although it’s been over 4 days. Usually Amex is instantaneous and boosting takes a day or two. Virgin’s flight is direct but I am now stuck waiting for points that I otherwise wouldn’t use. Is there any other way I could try? Amex are hands off and have said issue is on Virgin’s end. Totally shocking service. 2 hours wait is not acceptable! My landline battery wouldn’t last that long anyway.

    Amex Platinum card – how often can you apply & get the bonus offers? As it’s a charge card I’m sure it’s outside of the mr earning restrictions. I only have the Marriott Amex so I believe I can earn the bonuses.

      As often as you want, as long as you’ve not had one (or a Gold or another MR card) for 24 months.
