We are running this daily chat thread on Head for Points during the coronavirus outbreak.

Historically, the daily ‘Bits’ articles were the de facto repository for random comments and questions.  With the news flow being lighter, we are running fewer ‘Bits’ articles.

The comments under this article are where you should post questions about travel and, indeed, anything else on your mind.

Please only comment under the main articles on the site if your comment is directly related to the topic of the article.  This has long-term benefits as it keeps the commentary relevant for people who read those articles in the future.

    datapoint on Virgin Money chargebacks – Just got my chargeback from Expert Medical who didnt bother to ship my day 2 test back in Oct.

    Took VM 5 weeks and I had to escalate via Resolver before I got any reply at all from them.

    Joys of changing flights now days. Booked a trip via a few different FF plans….
    This is how my last 2 days have gone

    – Amex travel – 120 mins wait then cut off. 110 mins more wait then sorted.
    – BA – 40 mins wait and sorted within a few minutes.
    – Virgin – 90 mins wait then transferred to another dept who cut me off
    called back and 90 mins more wait who went on to sort ticket but cut me off again.
    On wait for the third time today!

    They can send people to space but can’t do simple website changes to allow pax to do a date change!

    Oh and they really need to have more than just 4 songs playing in a loop. I must have heard bitter sweet symphony 200+ times today.

      Just cancelled some Avios bookings on BA webchat…takes a few goes asking “talk to agent” but can get through…

      Virgin whatsapp are pretty helpful, if you can wait a day or two to get a response. Saves being on the phone for a good while.

    No emails no cash. Previously both would have occurred by now.

        My first Morrisons order with the current offer produced an email confirmation (Gold).

      I contacted Amex and asked the same question earlier today. No notifications this year, apparently, but my weekend purchase has activated a credit.

    Does anyone know if the twilight bag drop desk is functioning in T5 please? We’ve a 07:00 flight coming up (maybe) and I’d quite like to get our luggage squared away the night before.

      Worked fine for me on Sunday Nov 21st for a 07.35 flight the following Monday.

    In today’s post I received a letter, dated 2nd December – the DAY BEFORE card closure – increasing my Creation credit limit by £1,500.

      Keep it. See my comment yesterday.

      Not only does it show up incompetence on the part of Creation, it proves your account was in good order. Otherwise non(sane, competent) card provider would have increased your credit limit.

    I don’t have a Visa credit card to use for the Amazon £20 credit trick so used a random Visa credit card number generator and added that as a payment method. Doesn’t seem to have worked.
