  Ryanair booking – priority not working

  I’ve booked some cheap flights few weeks ago as I wasn’t sure about my travel dates yet (spent £13 on 3 flights).

  Now that my plans are confirmed, I’ve added ‘priority’ to my booking. However, I cannot check in (flying out on Thu) or select my seat – both should be included. Is this not possible if I add priority after booking/is this an error?

    Priority is extra cabin bag and boarding in the first group. It doesn’t include seat selection. You need to buy a seat to check in early or wait until 24 hrs before departure when check in opens for all.

  What are your experiences of wait times like for Haloverify in Sofitel T5?
  Should I expect to be there for more than 30mins for 2 people to do day2 test? (relevant for not overstaying in parking lot).

    It could be tight. Probably waited 5 minutes to be given a test but it is a bit of a walk through the hotel. It also depends how long it takes for you to get enough spit! Make sure you have done the app stuff before you arrive.

    Yes you will need longer than 30mins, although not by much, but they do the BA cabin crew and depends how many of them pitch up at once

  Please settle an argument, OH has a trip to USA booked with BAH. He is away for over a week, has a hotel booked for 2 nights and a car for 4 nights. He thinks he will get the double tier points on the grounds he’s away for over 5 days and totals over 5 days in hotel+car. I don’t think BA will be so generous.

    Terms say “and the hotel or car element of the booking must be booked for the duration of the trip.” so I don’t think he will qualify.

    I suggest he amends the car booking to extend the full holiday. 4 nights often costs as much as 5. 7 may not cost much more. but would have to cover his whole holiday with either hotel or car.

      ..the nights meaning car hire days, of course 🙂
      Even with car hire prices being what they are, I am guessing this will be easier for him to extend the duration of, than the hotels.

      Plus BAH offers 7 days for price of 5, as well as free additional driver, on the car hire, but as you stated, prices are astronomical at the moment.

  Anyone know of a PCR day 2 test place with a quick turnaround. Arriving on a Saturday morning and need results anytime Saturday, planning on taking the train from Gatwick, so either near LGW or near St Pancras.

    Collinson have added a “premium” option now – same day result if you test by 6pm. They have a site at St Pancras

    If it’s anything like Antigua you may pay a premium to use US$. There restaurants often (though not all) charge a 4-5% premium on the US conversion, and insist on charging cards in US$, not local currency. Bit of a scam really, considering it’s a hidden mark-up that a lot of people will struggle to avoid even if they notice, and anyone paying a card forex fee on top will be pay twice for a double conversion.

  I’m just about to do a “dummy” booking to extend a 2-4-1 voucher which will expire in February.

  Couple of questions if anyone could help me out.

  Is a one way journey okay, or does it have to be a return?

  Also, do I need to book business seats or will economy seats be okay for changing to a long hall business seat when I cash in the FTV?

    One way should be fine BUT there is a little bit of risk that BA could decide that you can’t change a one-way to a return later. Why take the risk? You’re just being silly in my view as there is no cost to you.

      Will defer to anyone who has actually done it, but why would that be an issue when you can in normal times add a return leg to an existing outbound booked with a 2for1? I get if the dummy booking is short haul and you qualify for RFS the cash element is minimal though.

        No idea why there may be an issue, but if there was, you’ve just lost a 241. Why risk it when there is zero cost to you in booking a return?

        Bottom line is that HfP is not going to recommend smart arse strategies which ‘should’ work if there is a zero cost alternative which WILL work.
