The HfP chat thread – Friday 3rd December

We are running this daily chat thread on Head for Points during the coronavirus outbreak.

Historically, the daily ‘Bits’ articles were the de facto repository for random comments and questions.  With the news flow being lighter, we are running fewer ‘Bits’ articles.

The comments under this article are where you should post questions about travel and, indeed, anything else on your mind.

Please only comment under the main articles on the site if your comment is directly related to the topic of the article.  This has long-term benefits as it keeps the commentary relevant for people who read those articles in the future.

Old chat threads are hidden from the HfP home page.  If you want to look for something in an old thread, click here.  This brings up all the articles in our ‘General’ category which includes the chat threads.

  • Aeronaut says:

    Curve question…

How much of a bad idea would it be to change my ‘home’ address with Curve so that I can order something and get it delivered to a different address?

The merchant will awkwardly only send it to the billing address.

(I could use the address of family, and they have the same surname.)

    • John says:

What happens if you just enter the desired delivery address as the billing address? I do that quite often and nobody has ever said anything except once (which was over the phone so merchant risk)

      • Char Char says:

The payment processor will often be able to validate the postcode and number of house matches the billing address, whether they choose to ship on that address or not is up to each company.

    • Char Char says:

Curve would probably have a break down if addresses are changed too often
