We are running this daily chat thread on Head for Points during the coronavirus outbreak.

Historically, the daily ‘Bits’ articles were the de facto repository for random comments and questions.  With the news flow being lighter, we are running fewer ‘Bits’ articles.

The comments under this article are where you should post questions about travel and, indeed, anything else on your mind.

Please only comment under the main articles on the site if your comment is directly related to the topic of the article.  This has long-term benefits as it keeps the commentary relevant for people who read those articles in the future.

Old chat threads are hidden from the HfP home page.  If you want to look for something in an old thread, click here.  This brings up all the articles in our ‘General’ category which includes the chat threads.

Can I get Covid-19 Proof of Recovery Certificates for under 12? No NHS app for under 12 I think.

    • Gary says:

Similar topic discussed bottom of page 3. Just to add if a Certificate or doctor’s letter of some sort is mandated by the country travelling to, plenty of private GPs in London would be willing to assist. Consultation can be carried out remotely. Of course many other approaches to prove recovery as discussed prior.

    • TGLoyalty says:

Recovery cert Not available for 12-16 either.

Which country doesn’t exempt under 12’s?

    Thanks.

“a copy of the your shareholder proxy card or a current brokerage statement showing proof of share ownership in Royal Caribbean Cruises

Last Friday’s BA Club Europe flight finally credited this morning, pushing me over the 1125 TPs needed for BAEC Gold just before my year-end on 8 December.

I started the year on Bronze (which I achieved by 8 Dec 2020, so as expected), and received the March 2021 BA email stating I’d receive a 12 month extension to my BAEC status, which I took to mean that re-achieving Bronze in 2021 would result in being Bronze for all of 2022 (as per usual) plus being Bronze for the extra 12 months of 2023.

Exact email wording states “we’ve extended Tier status by another 12 months for those Executive Club Members with a Tier Point collection end date between 1 July 2021 and 31 December 2021. This means that any Member renewing in 2021 will enjoy their status for another year, irrespective of how many Tier Points they earn.”

This was confirmed by my digital card expiry date, which showed “valid until 31 Jan 2024”.

I achieved Silver last month, and the digital card expiry remained “valid until 31 Jan 2024”.

However, on achieving Gold today, digital card expiry now shows “valid until 31 Jan 2023”.

Have I been diddled out of an entire additional year of Gold status previously granted by BA, or was I misled to think that that was the case in the first place ?

    • Rob says:

You were misled. What you see is correct. Remember that you’ll get a soft landing to Silver to Jan 2024 anyway.

      • WaynedP says:

Thanks, Rob – I suspected as much, and I can’t really complain about anything BA has done in this regard.

Without the TP threshold reduction and the double TP BA Holiday promotion this year I never would have feasibly been in a position to stretch for Gold status, so am just happy to enjoy it for an unexpected year in 2022 and be satisfied with Silver (or Bronze) as the norm after that.

Sweden, which introduced vaccine passes for indoor events with more than 100 people at the beginning of this month, had flagged potential additional measures might be needed to curb the spread of the virus.

“We may have to take measures already next week,” Karin Tegmark Wisell, Director General at Sweden’s Public Health Agency, told a news conference.

Didn’t know they had vaccine passports there.

Sorry another bendy question – are payments to Revolut counted as fronted – with the new limits wondered if Revolut would be outside as they normally accept credit cards?

    • John says:

No difference between using your card directly for revolut and bending it

    • Reney says:

What is the benefit of going via bendy when they pass on MCC and as you said Rev already accept CC?

      • Doog1000 says:

With Hilton Barclaycard there are cash advance charges going direct to Revolut but none via curve

  • Rachel Robinson says:

Anyone else having trouble with reward flight finder via the BA app?

    • Adder says:

We did Collinson tests for Dubai last week (at the O2) and the certificate specifies RT-PCR

  • VP says:

    Hello,

Apologies if this has been covered and I missed it, but does anyone know whether the Collinson 3 hr Rapid PCR Fit to Fly certificate mentions “RT PCR” or just “PCR” ? I can’t find this information on their site at all and my requirement is RT PCR.
    Thanks in advance.

50 extra Clubcard points every time you spend £5 or more at Tesco using your Clubcard Pay+ payment card throughout December.

Could be helpful for some who are minded to split their transactions.

    • Doog1000 says:

don’t know where you are seeing this – spent £10 using the club card pay plus today and no extra 50 points posted?
