If you are an Accor Live Limitless member, you may soon receive an email from Accor promoting a new ‘double or triple points’ promotion. Ignore it.

The company is running a separate promotion for Qatar Privilege Club members which is more generous and more flexible, although you only have a few days to book.

Take a look here. The offer is valid for stays until 24th November 2022 as long as you stay 2+ nights.

New Accor 'triple points' hotel promotion

Accor brands include ibis, Novotel, Sofitel, Mercure, MGallery, Raffles, Fairmont, Swissotel, Pullman etc.

As usual with Accor offers, it is a bit of a faff:

  • you need to register in advance of booking via this page of the Accor site (stays booked before registration do not count)
  • you must book your stay by 2nd December
  • you must book for at least two nights
  • you must complete your stay by 24th November 2022
  • you will earn triple base points on up to THREE stays during the promo period

The offer is valid at Accor hotels in Asia, Middle East, Africa, Europe and the North and South Americas. The landing page talks about ‘participating’ hotels but this simply means that some Accor brands do not take part in Accor Live Limitless. ibis Budget is the one you are most likely to come across.

You will see from the landing page that you are meant to be a member of Qatar Privilege Club to take advantage of this deal. I very much doubt that this will be checked but if you want to be 100% watertight you can sign up for free via this link. Code ACCESS21 will get you 2,500 free miles if you sign up by Sunday – not that you can do much with those.

What are triple Accor points worth?

Our article on what we think Accor Live Limitless points are worth is here.

1 point is worth 2 Eurocents off your next booking, although you need to redeem in chunks of 2,000 points.

The standard earn rate at most brands is 2.5 points per €1. Triple base points means 7.5 points per €1. This means 15 Eurocents of free stays for every €1 you spend, pre-tax, which is a decent return. Anyone with elite status will earn even more.

You can also transfer your Accor points to Avios although you lose value compared to using them for a discount on a future stay.

You can find out more, and register for triple points, here.

Accor gift card

And … get a 20% bonus when you buy a UK Accor gift card

Accor is also running a special Black Friday promotion on its UK gift cards.

Via this page of the Accor website, you can purchase gift cards from £25 to £250 and get an extra 20% loaded on top.

The offer runs until Monday.

The gift cards are only valid at participating UK hotels, of which there are over 200. These stretch from The Savoy to your local ibis.

Note that the gift cards cannot be used on the Accor website, which means that you won’t be able to benefit from any cheaper pre-paid rates. If you tend to book flexible rates, however, it is a genuine saving.

You can use the gift card towards food, drink and other room charges on a pre-paid stay, of course.

You can stack this offer with the triple points deal above.

Let’s assume that, as an Accor Diamond member, I book a £300 UK stay. I can pay for this with a £250 gift card, giving me an immediate saving of £50.

As a Diamond member I would get 7.5 base points per €1 via ‘triple points’ plus an extra 1.875 on top as a status bonus. This is a total of 9.375 points per €1, or 18.75 Eurocents per €1.

18.75% of (£300 – 12.5% VAT) £267 which is another £50, albeit received in Accor points to use on a future stay. I’ve got a £100 discount on my £300 stay by combining the two deals.

The Accor website won’t let me register – “we are experiencing technical difficulties” – in multiple browsers.

    • Alexis says:

Do you use AwardWallet? I had a similar error once and turned out that Accor had ‘restricted’ my account due to hugh number of logins. Annoyingly they don’t tell you they’ve done this anywhere and took quite a long exchange with Support to fix.

  • Alexis says:

The Accor vouchers are great value but every hotel I’ve used them at are utterly perplexed at how to redeem them. Expect checkout/checkin to take a longer than normal.

  • Lady London says:

Phone them sometimes this meana they’ve locked your account foe some spurious reason they didn’t bother to communicate to you

    • Hilda M says:

Exactly this – I kept getting that message for an earlier promo. Eventually found out my account had been suspended “due to a suspicious IP address” – and it was the second time my account had been suspended over the years I used the contact form first rather than phoning- wasn’t a great CS experience.
On a more positive note, finally got to use some suite upgrade awards for Sofitel LHR – 2 night booking which will work for this promo. Worked out at 157 GBP saving per night for 1 bed suite

  • Brian says:

Another decent way to use the gift cards would be to pay the supplement for a Privilege room at the hotel, which is often less than the difference between rates when booking online. Or to use for adding breakfast.

  • john llewellyn says:

Is it possible to trigger the amex offer of £50 back on £200 spend with the vouchers or does this only work on check out?

  • KevinF says:

Amex offer would only work on checkout. But the website only lets you buy gift card with a Visa or a Mastercard anyway.
