We are running this daily chat thread on Head for Points during the coronavirus outbreak.

Historically, the daily ‘Bits’ articles were the de facto repository for random comments and questions.  With the news flow being lighter, we are running fewer ‘Bits’ articles.

The comments under this article are where you should post questions about travel and, indeed, anything else on your mind.

Please only comment under the main articles on the site if your comment is directly related to the topic of the article.  This has long-term benefits as it keeps the commentary relevant for people who read those articles in the future.

Old chat threads are hidden from the HfP home page.  If you want to look for something in an old thread, click here.  This brings up all the articles in our ‘General’ category which includes the chat threads.

Is Breeze airways in the US on the radar of HfPers? Their A220 aircraft interiors look good, do you think you’ll be flying them?

looks like BA Exec Club, using browser, is ok

Just logged into BAEC using desktop and points etc still there. Logged in yesterday evening to make a purchase through the e-store and this morning have a mail saying my points (9120) are on the way, wont hit the account till upto 35 days after last day of my stay, was an accommodation purchase. But positive signs!

There goes my skiing holiday booked from the 11th…

And BA don’t fly to Innsbruck mid week so I can’t delay a few days.

“Austria will go into lockdown for everyone from Monday. This was announced by Federal Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg at a press conference after consultations with the federal states. The all-day exit restrictions are initially to apply for ten days, but can, if necessary, be extended once for a further ten days until December 12th at the latest. After that, the 2-G rule should apply again”

  • Michael says:

Hi, I have booked tickets for 4 people on British Airways flight to France for December using the voucher. Does anyone know whether BA will allow name change for 1 of the 4 passengers (1 cannot go but we find a replacement) and if yes, how much will it cost? The price for the date we want is really expensive now, so will consider paying name change fee if it is cheaper.

    • ChrisC says:

What voucher did you use? There are several types.

But in general you can’t change the name on the ticket with BA. Not even for a fee

      • A says:

how desperately do you not want to lose the ticket?
Person who wants to go, makes a simple (free) deed poll changing their name to person on booking, goes to passport office, get new passport in that name, travels, and then does exactly the same in reverse to change it back.
At the extreme end perhaps….but as above, you are probably SOL with BA.
