It was an exciting week as the USA re-opened to vaccinated visitors. Rhys was on the first Virgin Atlantic flight out and managed to capture excellent footage of the unique synchronised takeoff at Heathrow with British Airways.

Virgin Atlantic’s Flying Club makes some major improvements, including lower status thresholds, household accounts for all and Clubhouse passes. You can also now transfer or gift upgrade and 2-4-1 vouchers.

The SkyTeam status match has been extended to 25 airlines including British Airways (but not Virgin Atlantic) – don’t miss out!

All British Airways Executive Club functions will be unavailable over the weekend and into Wednesday as the IT is upgraded.

BA’s new Gatwick subsidiary is likely to have BA EuroFlyer as its legal name. We also have more details on how it will be structured and what cabin crew will be paid.

Both Iberia and Finnair have added new long haul routes, increasing your Avios redemption options.
