We are running this daily chat thread on Head for Points during the coronavirus outbreak.

Historically, the daily ‘Bits’ articles were the de facto repository for random comments and questions.  With the news flow being lighter, we are running fewer ‘Bits’ articles.

The comments under this article are where you should post questions about travel and, indeed, anything else on your mind.

Please only comment under the main articles on the site if your comment is directly related to the topic of the article.  This has long-term benefits as it keeps the commentary relevant for people who read those articles in the future.

Old chat threads are hidden from the HfP home page.  If you want to look for something in an old thread, click here.  This brings up all the articles in our ‘General’ category which includes the chat threads.

What I want isn’t available online but I’m pretty sure they can do it.

      Bonanza!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Sorry network doesn’t show it when posted. Weirdly Wordpress normally rejects duplicates…I now hold the Wordpress record for 4 identical posts.

Hopefully Rhys will be along soon and have the time to delete 3 of them.

Anyone got a phone # for BA Hols pleaSe?

      • Anna says:

        Google says 0344 493 0787.
I have got the new Jack Reacher today, which is much more satisfying than attempting any kind of interaction with BA!

          Lol
Let me guess, he arrives on a bus with just a toothbrush in his pocket, stays in a motel, presses his clothes under the mattress, has a few fights to sort some baddies out, gets back on the bus and leaves?
Not sure how it will work with a co-author and subsequently a replacement author, but I suppose given the plot never changes, anyone could write it.

  • MariaJ says:

Hi, can someone remind me if you can refer yourself to an AMEX card?

    • Youllnever says:

You can but you should’nt unless you’re fine risking your accounts being shut down by Amex.

  • RTS says:

Quick question on marriot redemptions using points advanced option – this does guarantee the room right?

  • Ant says:

Amex BA business – a few weeks ago i got an email from Amex offering 60,000 & first year £0 fee to take out the BA Business card. Which I did.
is this invite linked to myself or can my OH use it as well and get same?

  • FlightDoctor says:

Need some advice please from anyone who has travelled back from Spain in the last few days with family. I’ve completed the U.K. PLFs but the online documentation Iberia are requiring to be uploaded for each passenger includes proof of Covid testing for unvaccinated passengers – our 3 kids are under 18 and exempt as per the latest U.K. rules. I’ve therefore not uploaded any testing documentation but the mail from Iberia says “you have still not submitted all the required documentation”. Any ideas?

    • MariaJ says:

No need to upload it. We just showed up a the airport and the check-in agent checked everything.

    • HBommie says:

I have never uploaded any documentation to an airline. Just turned up with all the necessaries at check in.

  • Alex B says:

Can anyone recommend a nice restaurant in Vienna? Is there anything particularly interesting to go see/do after dinner?

    • Rhys says:

      Opera?

    • Gary says:

      Wiener schnitzel – https://www.figlmueller.at/en/

Do & Co Hotel restaurant/ bar – food great, has direct view of St Stephen’s Cathedral

Sofitel hotel- go for a drink as beautiful lighting/view. Food is so so.

Loos Bar- Art deco, great atomsphere for drinks in the evening

      • Alex B says:

Thanks, will try and book Do & Co looks nice. By after dinner entertainment I meant more 10pm than 7.30 (no clubs)

    • Phil W says:

Not a restaurant but I highly recommend the 7Stern brauhaus. They brew their own beer on site, it and the food are delicious.

    • Elguiri says:

There is a Mozart themed musical recital (at least there was about 5 years ago).

The fairground (has some claim to fame) is probably more for before dinner but might be of interest.

    • JandeW says:

The best Austrian restaurant in Vienna by a country mile is Plachutta, Wollzeile 38, 1010 Vienna. Not cheap but delicious…

I thought i would never see the day but I have finally used up all my Lloyds vouchers.

In non-surprising news to anyone yet to use their’s by Saturday, the waiting time can be lengthy to get through at the moment.

    • meta says:

I got through within five minutes last week. Don’t be so sure you’ll use them in the end. BA can end up cancelling the flight…

      • Anna says:

Surely you’d be entitled to re-routing in that case? My last Lloyds voucher is currently in it’s 3rd incarnation: BA cancelled my first trip to NCE, which I rebooked, then I cancelled it as I made different plans for last August and avios.com quite happily moved it to PRG next Easter for me!
