  Its great that US is reopening on 8th Nov however I do have a big dilema.
  We are visiting Orlando on the 16th Dec and I have to pay the balance on a villa I will be renting on the 21st Oct. Once I have paid it it is non refundable. My children are 15 and 17 and have both had a single jab. UK government do not plan on giving a second dose.
  My question is do you think the US will class them as fully vaccinated?

        Think for Canada at least, exemption is only for under 12s.
        But nothing official yet.

          I wouldn’t be surprised that by December the vaccines are approved for over 5s in the US and the requirements for entry to quickly demand the same thing.

      I can across this Disney Cruise Line last night which is a recent update from the CDC

      “To comply with this new requirement, all Guests ages 12 and older on upcoming sailings must be fully vaccinated to board the ship. Approved vaccines include those produced by Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson. Please note, in accordance with CDC guidelines:

      – Guests who have received both doses of Moderna, Pfizer or AstraZeneca are considered fully vaccinated 14 days after the second dose has been administered.
      – Guests who have received Johnson & Johnson are considered fully vaccinated 14 days after receiving one dose.
      – Guests with both one dose of Moderna and one dose of Pfizer are considered fully vaccinated 14 days after the second dose.
      – Guests who have received one single dose of a vector vaccine (e.g. AstraZeneca) and one single dose of a mRNA vaccine (e.g. Pfizer, Moderna) are not considered fully vaccinated.
      – Guests who choose not to provide proof of vaccination to meet the requirements of The Bahamas will not be permitted to board the ship.”

    The 17 year old should be fine as I believe NHS / GPs are allowed to treat 17 year, 9 month old as 18. Youd have to check though. Presumably same for 15 year old

      correct. we can offer second doses to those age 17 and 9 months at the moment. Anyone younger than that can only have one dose unless they or a member of their household have certain medical conditions.
      You may be able to find a couple of clinics in London that will allow second doses on reddit r/getjabbed but no guarantees.

  Can anyone recommend a luggage storage service (or alternative solution) for the US? I’m doing an “internal” return flight to Hawaii mid-holiday and would like not to take all my baggage with me.

    Are you returning to the same town? Hotel will usually hold it for you. If not the one you’re checking out from, the one you’re checking in to on your return would do it.

        I tried to find left luggage in LA a few yrs ago for a single medium suitcase for 10days & it was a nightmare. Left luggage storage facilities don’t exist. I was about to sign for a few wks of self storage until I discovered at the final stage as per the security policy you had to be a US citizen to open a unit. I was in Beverly Hills & enquired in hotels as to paying for storage but the answer was always no on security grounds. Eventually the hotel I was departing did agree to keep it (& refused payment on liability grounds & I had to sign lots of waiver forms) but only because I really had no other options to pursue. I would make sure you get your hotel’s written agreement to store in advance rather than assume it will be a given at the time.

      It worked fine for me 2 weeks ago for Dubai but I gave up trying to set up Spain on it this weekend. When I plugged in that Spain was my destination the only Airlines that came up in the drop down section was Aer Lingus and AA so I gave up.

    I used it from Madeira beginning of September and it worked well. Note that there was no lounge open at Madeira airport.

        Depends what you’ve done with cookie settings, if you’ve opted out of advertising cookies in as many sites as you can then it may not be targeted advertising.

  It’s impossible to book (for example) a return flight in club and another return seat in WT on the same flight on the same booking right? Has to be in the same class or nothing?

    Correct, though you could have CW on the way out and WT on the inbound.

    You can mix cabins, just select which cabin you want outbound and which you want inbound. Only exception is hand baggage only fares which they don’t seem to let you combine with anything else. And combining economy and First requires a call, as online only shows 3 different cabins – so you’d need to search WT+ at least to be able to see First too.

        But if on same booking then I was wondering if WT person can benefit from advanced seat selection of CW person who is Silver (soon to be Gold) hence the strange question. You have just confirmed what I suspected, they can’t as can’t be on same booking. Ah well. Thanks again.

    I think you’re asking about having passengers in different cabins on one booking eg. Mum & dad in business & kids in economy?

    BA won’t do this on one PNR. Why do you want to though? If it’s to extend status perks then they absolutely won’t extend them to a different cabin. If it’s for the example above & you need to bypass the restriction on unaccompanied minors (<14’s) then you can have linked bookings if you call up.

      Yes even Golds can only extend seat selection privileges to other PNRs in the same cabin – ie so they can sit with you, even if not on the same booking (Silvers don’t get this) and doesn’t work in different cabins to the main card holder anyway.

      But BA want to charge you for the privilege (as they do with most things) so people that have the nanny sat in economy with the kids are just going to have to shell out a few quid for seat selection.

      But they have to have separate bookings.

      You can’t mix separate cabins like this on the same booking.

        Exactly. The issue occurs if no nanny & kids <14. BA would not sell tickets to the kids without an adult on the booking but equally won’t put the adults in J & kids in Y on one PNR. They will link two PNR’s in this scenario so everyone can travel but won’t transfer any other status/J privileges to the kids down the back.

        There’s an age (I think <10) where they won’t permit separated kids full stop unless there’s an adult to sit with them for take off/landing.

  Hilton Dalaman all inclusive. I booked via an OTA and gave my Hilton Honors number in the “extra notes” field. The booking has now appeared in my Hilton app under “stays”

  Is that a good sign? What benefits can I get with Gold? It was be close to capacity and I arrive at 9pm on the first day.

    Benefits aren’t guaranteed if you book via a 3rd party, even if the booking appears in your account, however that shouldn’t matter too much if you’re on AI as the main benefit is free breakfast.

    Yes, always worth dropping in the number; nothing to lose. Points will likely post now but you can’t complain if they don’t. If it’s full there’s not much they can or should give you with brekkie out of play …. As ever, expect nothing, appreciate anything you do get as the bonus it is 🙂

    They might give you some points and an upgrade if they are feeling very very generous – the programme T&Cs don’t technically permit this on OTA bookings that aren’t a preferred partner. Hilton Gold isn’t really a big deal anyway and you’ve already got your brekkie included. YMMV, of course.

    I also emailed the WA on The Palm and asked them to add my Hilton number. I know booking through BA holidays I won’t get the points, but figured it wouldn’t hurt anyway.

    I booked dalaman thru on the beach (was half the price versus direct) and when there I said I was gold and they gave me upgrade to a room with sauna. Worth 3k extra. Very decent of them.

        We have been before. How old are your kids? Their kids entertainment was great last time we went which is the main reason we are going again. They have a kids club that had a ton of activities so I’m hoping it will be the same but won’t know until we get there. I don’t recall anything needing to be prebooked but it may have changed. Is your half term this week or next?
