  Anyone familiar with Virgin redemption on Air France – cancellation policy?

  Information I can find suggests I can cancel for free within 24h of booking, make unlimited date changes free until 2023 (Covid), or cancel for refund of all miles and cash, less £30.

  Still likely to be true even for redemptions on AF?

    I find the best information is found in the full fare rules, visible before making payment in the final booking screens. Other information (such as active covid rebooking policies) are transient and may not continue to exist. The fare rules are pretty solid.

  Anyone know of any status matches/tricks to Star Alliance? Looking at potential flights with Singapore Air or Thai Airways early next year and would like to see if I can get status beforehand.

  Is TAP still running their promo? Any routes through Amex Plat? I’m Oneworld Sapphire as well if that helps.

  On a side note, any interesting points opportunities with them? Have a few Amex Points and Chase UR in the mix…

  Can’t remember who was asking about tips for Marrakech or on what page (forums soon please?).
  So, my tips:
  1. Pay a beggar to follow you around and keep all the other beggars and touts away. A few dhirams every half an hour should suffice, and he’ll be ready to shank anyone else trying to get on his gravy train
  2. Have lots of change. This is for taxis mostly. See below
  3. Every taxi driver is a scammer looking to charge at least triple by giving you “special fix price for you habibi”. Tell them to turn the meter on. Look for another cab if they refuse, there are almost as many cabs around as normal cars. They’ll be annoyed and likely to take a long creative route to rack up the charge on the meter and will miraculously be unable to provide any change at journeys end. Maker sure you have lots of twenty notes, and five & ten coins.
  4. Tipping is not in their culture and is something imported by tourists. Feel free to round up to the nearest note. Only tip of you genuinely had an excellent service or experience. Don’t encourage excessive tipping.
  5. Watch out for scooters in the Medina. I have no idea why these have still not been banned.
  6. Go to Alphais Spa and do one of the three hour package for 870 or 920 Dirhams. Tell the taxi to drop you at the entrance to Bahia Palace as this is perhaps three or four minutes walk. See number 2&3.
  7. Lots of decent eateries on Avenue Mohammed V. Walk along it and pick one.

    Download an offline map so you never get lost in the Medina! Mythic Oriental Spa is awesome. Good luck getting a taxi to use the meter. Happened twice I think. Lots of good restaurants in the Medina. Lamb Alley/Mechoui Alley for lunch is brilliant if you are adventurous.

        You will have to check the exchange rate. My wife won’t go back as when she went to Marrakesh before we were married, her then boyfriend was offered 12 camels for her and she doesn’t want to find her value has reduced!

    Sounds marvellous… did a one nighter in Marrakesh a few years ago and that was quite sufficient thanks.
    A dump compared to say Istanbul

  To those who have not received the creation letter- this does not mean you are safe. I called for an unrelated matter and I was told a letter was sent on September 28. This was for the white card so I didn’t ask too many questions as I don’t use it (no letter received though). I only used it for that boosted sign up offer and put it in the drawer. I think a few of us here got it at the time….

  It has definitely never been linked to curve or done any MS. No nsadi on it.

  Now the big question is what is happening to my black card🤔
  The agent didn’t say anything about it and I didn’t want to draw attention to it. That card has definitely been around and formed so many beneficial relationships 🤣

    Have you used it with Che? Some have reported that their card was cancelled and the only sus thing they’ve done is Che.

    My white card has been linked to Curve but not Che, yet got the same letter as our 2 black. I actually found it today at the bottom of an underwear drawer while looking for something else! We are going to have a lovely collection of IHG cards and Platinum Amexes to scrape our windscreens come the winter 🤣
