We are running this daily chat thread on Head for Points during the coronavirus outbreak.

Historically, the daily ‘Bits’ articles were the de facto repository for random comments and questions.  With the news flow being lighter, we are running fewer ‘Bits’ articles.

The comments under this article are where you should post questions about travel and, indeed, anything else on your mind.  At this tricky time, and given that many of you are at home, we want the HfP community to have a place to chat.

Please only comment under the main articles on the site if your comment is directly related to the topic of the article.  This has long-term benefits as it keeps the commentary relevant for people who read those articles in the future.

    DP: a colleague arrived back from Poland yesterday. His wife is only single-jabbed, and so needs to quarantine. Someone turned up at their house this morning to check she was in – needed to see her and matching photo ID.

        And is the reason why those on the previous page should give a bit more thought to their casual attitude to the PFL.

        Lucky she hadn’t popped out for fuel or decided the testing and isolating wasn’t for her I guess.

          You can still go out for a variety of reasons, ironically one of which is for testing, which is what happened to me back in July – they came round when I had actually gone out for a test!

    Have had an email saying that I’ve hit £5k spend on AmEx. I can’t find the target for my 2:4:1 voucher anywhere though…

      It looks like its disappeared for me too, it’s probably an IT bug that will resolve itself in a few days.

        I had a problem with logon to the app; it was sending a message every time; which is now fixed.

    Does anyone know if in BA book with confidence could you cancel the return leg? Or is it better after you have flown the first leg? Would you receive an eVoucher?

    I’ve maxed out my points purchase with Marriott and want to take advantage of the current offer. My girlfriend’s account isn’t old enough to buy points. Am I allowed to gift points to her then have her transfer them back to me despite the age of her account?

      I think account needs to be 30 days old for you to gift points to her as well. Other readers have pointed out that there might be a black friday sale so that timing might work for you

    IHG Creation Twitter

    Would anyone know if there is a way to DM IHG Creation via Twitter? I can’t seem to find any Twitter handle for them on Google.

    It’s just that it’s been eight weeks now since my mother spent £200.00 to earn the 10,000 IHG points SUB, but no sign of these points in her IHG.com account.

    Unless there is another way of getting in touch with IHG Creation (besides calling, I mean — my mother’s 83 and wouldn’t have any idea what’s going on if she were put on the receiver!).

    I posted this last night, but was requested to post again today for more attention.

    Has anyone successfully received their additional 0.5% reimbursement from the summertime promo on Creation spending (for me, IHG White)? Nothing here yet, but I can’t find where I saved the terms, and would like to know if I can complain yet.

      Nothing for me yet.
      Terms were within 60 days from Aug 29th.
      Not sure how this will play out given I received the closure letter…..

        Nothing yet. I called them last week to ask as my white card is being cancelled and they said promo should be upheld as was prior to cancellation. I made them note on my account if its not applied by the end of the month ( 60 day term in terms) then they should expect a complaint from me

    Anybody having trouble logging into their account on the Hilton Barclaycard website today?
    I keep getting the following message every time:

    “Your session was closed to protect your information.”
    “Please try logging in again”

          Online issue resolved now, it would appear the system all of a sudden didn’t like my “cut and pasted” username (like I’ve been doing forever), entered manually it worked ok!
