Shangri-La Golden Circle launches a 50% off redemption sale

Shangri-La Golden Circle has launched another of its occasional redemption sales.

ALL hotels across the Shangri-La, Kerry, Hotel Jen and Traders brands are current offering 50% off reward nights. I think this is the first time that an offer like this has had no exclusions.

You must book for stays by 30th April. It isn’t clear when the booking deadline is – it could even run as long as 30th April.

There are some excellent deals here if you have the points. Close to home, you could stay in The Shard in London, or the Shangri-La in Paris – both hotels with excellent reputations – for 10,000 Golden Circle points.

Shangri-La Bosphorus, Istanbul or Shangri-La Le Touessrok, Mauritius are reduced to 4,750 Golden Circle points, from 9,500.

Here’s the snag. Golden Circle is not a partner with any major credit card or airline programme, so you can only take advantage of this deal if you already have the points.

The only way to pick up points via a transfer is with Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer. However, at a 12:1 conversion rate, this makes no sense. There are far better uses for 120,000 KrisFlyer miles than one night at The Shard.

Golden Circle has also extended status

Shangri-La has also come out of the blocks early, along with Hilton, in extending status again.

All members have had their tier status extended until 31st December 2022. My complimentary Jade status, which I got before Shangri-La withdrew as an American Express Platinum partner, is actually showing as valid unti 31st December 2023.
