The HfP chat thread – Friday 1st October

We are running this daily chat thread on Head for Points during the coronavirus outbreak.

Historically, the daily ‘Bits’ articles were the de facto repository for random comments and questions.  With the news flow being lighter, we are running fewer ‘Bits’ articles.

The comments under this article are where you should post questions about travel and, indeed, anything else on your mind.  At this tricky time, and given that many of you are at home, we want the HfP community to have a place to chat.

Please only comment under the main articles on the site if your comment is directly related to the topic of the article.  This has long-term benefits as it keeps the commentary relevant for people who read those articles in the future.

Old chat threads are hidden from the HfP home page.  If you want to look for something in an old thread, click here.  This brings up all the articles in our ‘General’ category which includes the chat threads.

Decided to have one last weekend MS blowout. £9k Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Curve will likely close me down on Monday but I like to push boundaries!

    • Harrier25 says:

Good on you @ Mr Petrol station! You need something to keep you entertained while waiting for the next tanker!

    • meta says:

If they’re too slow on Monday, do another £9k before 9am or whenever they open😂

    • r* says:

Sadly I only have beardy available so a blowout would be more like a fizzle lol

  • Paul says:

What’s the funding card for that blow out?

  • Adam says:

    Hello,

Has anyone had to use the amex platinum insurance cover after contracting covid abroad? I’ve heard that some people feel. That they are not covered by the insurance? I’ve got a travel insurance certificate from AXA which explicitly says I am covered in the event I get covid, and after speaking to a friendly chap on the amex customer helpline he too said I would be covered.

    Many thanks

    Adam
