Singapore Airlines re-opens its Heathrow lounge – if you do a PCR test

Star Alliance passengers flying out Heathrow Terminal 2 will now have a lounge option in the ‘B’ satellite terminal as Singapore Airline reopens its Business Class and First Class lounges.

This is not the best lounge in Terminal 2B – Head for Points has a love-in with the United Club lounge which we reviewed here – but until United chooses to re-open its lounge Singapore Airlines will have to do.

You can access the lounge irrespective of which Star Alliance carrier you are flying with, as long as you have a Business or First Class ticket, or have Star Alliance Gold status.

Singapore Airlines re-opens its Heathrow lounge - if you do a PCR test

The First Class area is open from 6am to 11am whilst the Business Class area is open from 6am to 9pm.

Note that the Singapore Airlines website states – in the section on the Heathrow lounge – that:

Lounge guests are required to produce a negative Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test taken at a recognised or accredited clinic, laboratory or medical facility within 72 hours before the scheduled departure date of your flight.”

This is likely to prove an issue for anyone travelling to a country which does not require a PCR test.
