  Following our wonderful (yes really!) experience at Luton last week, the experience at Ibiza was not so good. Didn’t help that I was feeling fragile, as we’d had to arrange having our cat put to sleep following a horrific self-inflicted incident (my adult kids were cat sitting so fortunately he wasn’t on his own).

  Found it a bit odd that there was no speedy boarding line or line for easyJet plus customers, it was just one line for everyone. Had to get someone’s attention to get through, as had been dumped and left by special assistance. Wouldn’t have been happy if I’d paid for speedy boarding though. They didn’t seem to be checking the size of anyone’s hand luggage though, good news for some I’m sure. Had no problem taking my small suitcase through (I had got it noted on the booking that I had medical equipment in just in case, but I needn’t have bothered).

  The whole thing just seemed to be a complete free for all. I also got shouted at by someone who should know better (one of the special assistance workers) for using the accessible toilet. I’m sure he didn’t expect to have the reaction he got (as I said, I was feeling fragile) but I was very annoyed and upset. It’s clear he thought that only people in wheelchairs were entitled to use that toilet, didn’t enter his head that there could be all kinds of other reasons why someone else would need to use it.

  Anyway, cat and airport drama aside, we had a nice weekend away just relaxing and enjoying the warm weather.

      Strange, so many people on here really happy with EasyJet. We’re off to Ibiza next week with BA…be interesting to note any differences with assistance.

    Jody on my easy jet flights it also seemed like no one was checking how many pieces of luggage anyone was bringing.

  Any ideas why I can’t seem to see QR availability anymore on both BA and AA for a redemption booking next April? Was working fine now only shows Sri Lankan options from Doha to Far East

  Does anyone have recent experience of Ryanair Stansted fast track and whether it’s worth the premium please (we’re flying to Biarritz Thursday week if that makes any difference). TIA!

  Another question for the HfP brains trust – recommendations for activities / eateries in Biarritz and Hossegor please. Staying for 2 nights each at the Sofitel Le Miramar Thalassa Spa in Biarritz and at the Baya Hotel Cap Breton for Hossegor – ta 😎🙏

  Heathrow car drop-off charge delayed to November. Is this a classic story of a job that’s not ready but was originally subcontracted for a ton of money and shown to be on schedule till a week before going live?

    National shortage of ANPR equipment?

    A neighbour’s son is a security guard and they’re back to physically patrolling some car parks as a consequence of ANPR cameras being vandalised with the kit on back order.

      Possible, but this equipment should have been in place for a while now. They had signs up at T5 about two weeks ago that this new charge was coming in October, but when I came back on Sunday they were all covered with black bags.

      You may be on to something, although from looking at the document (if I’m looking at the right one anyway) it doesn’t appear that the car drop-off charge is in scope.

        The drop off charge will eventually be included, assuming single till continues in the next regulatory period. As you say, not within the current consultation, but may not be ideal suddenly to show a new revenue stream when a very large charges increase is on the cards, simply by the costs being spread over a smaller number of forecast 2022 passengers.

  Theres no quarantine or preflight/arrival testing required for fully vaccinated arrivals in poland from the uk is there?

  Theres lots of scenarios listed on the uk and pl sites and thats what it sounds like, but has anyone travelled there recently that can confirm?

    No, no testing required. If you’re fully vaccinated, there’s no quarantine. Need to fill Polish PLF, but it doesn’t have to be online, and they usually had paper versions onboard for my recent 3 flights to Poland(Wizz, Ryanair, BA). My last flight was mid August, but friends travelled more recently, and it still seems to be the same.

      Flew out there beginning of this month, no tests needed, just PLF. All very smooth at the Polish end(and UK as well, even with Ryanair).
