American Express has launched a new wave of hotel cashback deals. Whatever you are planning this Autumn, you are likely to find a deal for you.

As usual, these offers may or may not appear somewhere on your American Express account. You need to look under the ‘Offers’ tab for every Amex card you hold, and ‘Save’ those offers which you want to use.

Here are the new deals:

Get £100 back on £250 spend at Hyatt

  • This offer expires on 31st December
  • It is an excellent deal, obviously, and will be even better if Hyatt lanches a generous Autumn promotion. The list of participating hotels is here (PDF) and covers selected European countries only. I am 100% certain to be taking advantage of this offer given the scale of the discount and the great properties included.
  • Remember that you can get an even better deal if you book via Hyatt Prive, which gets you free breakfast, a guaranteed upgrade and a hotel food and drink credit. Learn about Hyatt Prive here.

Get £50 back on £200 spend at Marriott

  • This offer expires on 31st December

Get £30 back on £100 spend at Thistle

  • This offer expires on 31st December

Get £60 back on £200 spend at Hard Rock Hotel London, The Clermont, Guoman

  • This offer expires on 31st December
  • It covers (all in London) the two The Clermont hotels (ex-Amba), Amba Marble Arch, The Tower at St Katherine Docks, Great Cumberland Place, The Royal Horseguards, Hard Rock Hotel London.

The following existing Amex hotel cashback deals are still running (I haven’t included the very long list of deals which are expiring this month):

  • £100 back on £350 spend at Leading Hotels of the World, ends 15th October
  • £70 back on £200 spend at Millennium & Copthorne, ends 31st October
  • £100 back on £400 spend with Preferred Hotels, ends 30th November
  • £75 back on £350 spend with The Doyle Collection, ends 30th November
  • £100 back on £400 spend at One Aldwych in London, ends 30th December

Amusingly, of all the offers above, and on all my cards, I have one: the Marriott offer on the Marriott Amex. So the data points of never seeing it on this card is wrong.

    • Rob says:

I was trying to say that you wouldnt see the Hyatt or Thistle offers in the Marriott card!

    • George K says:

I can’t remember when was the last time I actually got the marriott deal on the bonvoy card. This time it’s on my ARCC, last time it was on my gold, and I’ve also had it on my Harrods one. It’s… annoying!

  • Andrew (@andrewseftel) says:

Is there still a 3-4-2 offer on suites with Hyatt Privé or did that finish?

  • MM says:

Hyatt in Edinburgh is not on the list unfortunately. Would have been nice!

  • Dave says:

I’ve been waiting all year for an Amex Marriott offer but I don’t have it on my Marriot Amex card. Looks like it’s just for a lucky few.
If you don’t have it on your card is it likely/unlikely to appear in the next day or so?

    • Russ says:

Alas been my experience that if Rob’s done an article on it and you haven’t heard anything by then then you’re out of luck.

  • Russ says:

Do we know if we can stack Prive and this Amex offer with Hyatt’s ‘Double your Points’ rates?

  • Rob says:

    Cumulative is usually fine.

  • Mco says:

Hyatt not showing up on my cards. If anyone is able to get Amex to manually add pls do post an update here.

    • TGLoyalty says:

The only way it’ll happen is if you get an email or advertising banner promoting it on your account.

  • Ammar says:

Never collected/credited Hyatt stays – just read the article about the programme, due to small footprint and lack of credit card earning, do not think i will earn enough to redeem for a reward so was thinking may take the 500 avios instead for a one night stay at the Andaz, but my question was – If i do not take the hyatt points and take avios, will it still trigger my stay towards the brand explorer challenge, as I expect over the next few years may end up going to 5 different brands to get the free night?

    • Rob says:

That’s a good question which I’d never thought about – I would guess yes but ….
