The comments under this article are where you should post questions about travel and, indeed, anything else on your mind. At this tricky time, and given that many of you are at home, we want the HfP community to have a place to chat.

Please only comment under the main articles on the site if your comment is directly related to the topic of the article. This has long-term benefits as it keeps the commentary relevant for people who read those articles in the future.

Does anyone know if Creation does DD payment adjustment like Amex does if the payments were paid off the same day the statement was created, or do they still charge the statement amount? Thanks!

  I think they do adjust the amount providing the payment was made early enough. I’m going back a while though and it’s Creation, so it probably depends which way the wind is blowing.

  Yes they do adjust the DD amount if you’ve made partial payments before the due date. They won’t take anything if you’ve paid the statement balance in full.

The lufthansa website has the following information.

Information for passengers on flights from United Kingdom

Please note that passengers on a flight from the United Kingdom to Frankfurt or Munich who have an international connecting flight now require a transit visa for Germany in some cases – even if they do not leave the airport in Germany and are only in the transit area. Lufthansa therefore asks all passengers to inform themselves in detail about the regulations before departure.

I have a booking in October. LHR – FRA – RUH (RTN).

Do I really need a transit visa with a UK passport? Why on earth?

    Citizens of countries outside of the EU may enter Germany to travel to a country outside of the EU if the following conditions are met:

    the traveller is permitted to enter the country of destination or another transit country, if applicable.
    The traveller must provide evidence on entry that the conditions (1) and (2) listed above have been met. Airline or other travel tickets, etc. may be presented to meet condition (1). To meet condition (2), travellers can present authorisation of entry to the country of destination (e.g. a visa) or an identity document or residence authorisation for the country of destination, for example.

      Based on this, I’m inclined to say that you don’t need a transit visa because your onward tickets will meet (1) and your proof of eligibility to enter (e.g. passport, visa etc) will meet (2).
      
      Further, FRA has a transit area that allows passengers to travel on to a connection without accessing the Schengen zone, which makes a transit visa – assuming you aren’t coming from a list of certain countries – unnecessary.     I was up late at night wondering but I think that would make sense based on what I read. I wish it would be clear.
    
    I got an email reply from the German Border Police saying I wouldn’t need a transit visa. He seemed surprised that I would ask such a question but couldn’t explain anything.
    
    I guess we will have many more delights to look forward with a combination of Brexit and Coronavirus!
