    They could spend their money on customer service instead. Novel idea. So people are not left high and dry when their accounts are suspended.

      In fairness if you use the account as intended then I don’t think I’ve ever heard anybody complain.

      Doing KYC checks on those flagged for MS or suspicious transfers seems like a poor use of their marketing budget.

  I do not think I have ever bought a gift card in store 😉

  Gift cards seem to be a good way to hit spend targets, etc. How much in gift cards would be too much for a single store visit as a rule of thumb?

          I actual find them to be quite good and you can register them on Airtime. Boots on the other hand, can only be used in store! Lots of great deals online and can’t double dip with using a discounted gift card.

      Yep £600-800 per purchase at a manned (sorry personned) checkout might get a “stocking up for Christmas?” comment but that’s it. Buying a bit of actual shopping also helps.

    How many “staff” do you have under you? I had no problems buying a £100 voucher for each of 17 of them, at least that’s what I told the checkout operator.

    No rules, just depends on the store and the people working at the time. Sometimes one could be too many, other times you can drop over £1k without issues.

    Had some suspicious questions when buying £500+ before, some places have made me feel like a criminal! But it depends on the place. I normally prefer to keep it below £250.

      I was questioned once at Tesco when buying £500 worth of gift cards, but it seemed like the cashier was making sure I wasn’t exploited or scammed and indeed buying the cards for myself.

    I have done £4k in a single visit to Morrisons £4k. A manager had to put them through but no questions about why I wanted so many.

    I did wonder what would happen if I told them it was to get 10% off my Waitrose shop.

      They’ve partially vaccinated 30% adults and just agreed delivery of 50m doses of AZ for this year b/f from 2022 so should be improving soon.
      The problem is with Shnapps and co, once on the Red list it seems almost impossible to get off it, why is Turkey 🦃 is still Red?

      As well as being ahead of the U.K. they also have world class health care infrastructure in major cities. Attract a generally young demographic. Are by definition an outdoors location for almost every activity.

      And for those on this site staying in luxury resort hotels I’ve no idea how the risk is “red” compared to the domestic spread in the U.K. in packed festivals, stadiums, bars and arenas. Only the office seems to be a place of potential transmission in the U.K.

      And as for “unknown variants” perfectly easy to wash yourself of your Thai stamp cheaply in a neighbouring county in that part of the world.

      Insane and I hope the public soon realise the system is just that. Specifically as it relates only to incarcerating low risk British Citizens at their own expense on return to this county when the risks just don’t justify any such action.

          You will have plenty of options around the ME if Turkey doesn’t. Even then just ignore the whole farce and come in via DUB into to CTA where no such nonsense exists and head to the U.K. as a domestic passenger.
