We are running this daily chat thread on Head for Points during the coronavirus outbreak.

Historically, the daily ‘Bits’ articles were the de facto repository for random comments and questions.  With the news flow being lighter, we are running fewer ‘Bits’ articles.

The comments under this article are where you should post questions about travel and, indeed, anything else on your mind.  At this tricky time, and given that many of you are at home, we want the HfP community to have a place to chat.

Please only comment under the main articles on the site if your comment is directly related to the topic of the article.  This has long-term benefits as it keeps the commentary relevant for people who read those articles in the future.

            I booked my ticket on an avanti service just to be sure, but as you say no mention made of that in the t&c’s…annoying as the liner service is only 50p

      Yes – I had this issue yesterday.
      Had uploaded it successfully for a trip to Germany this week but looked again and it did not work. The French one still seems to work…

    Anyone recently stayed at the hotel Alfonso seville? Are they generous with the suite night awards and any experiance with breakfast those days? Cheers Ash

      Currently at the Alfonso. I am Titanium and was given a Deluxe Suite after asking for an upgrade to a suite before I arrived (messaged in the app). I did not apply SNAs as a friend told me the hotel is usually pretty generous with elites in terms of upgrades. We actually ended up in a different deluxe suite (I think it’s still a deluxe) after we had an issue with the air con in the bedroom of the previous suite. All the suites are very different and unique.

      Breakfast is a self service buffet (remember those?!). There is also an omelette chef. The selection is very good, both for hot and continental/cold options. Eating in the little courtyard for breakfast is also very pleasant. Breakfast is included for platinum and above as an elite welcome gift choice (I have no idea who chooses points over breakfast).

      Happy to answer any other questions. I stay at the higher end of the Bonvoy portfolio most of the time, and we are impressed so far.

          It’s not too bad today (late 20s/early 30s) but I nearly died yesterday at the Alcazar when it was in the late 30s. Apparently it hit 46 degrees last week, so we’ve actually been quite lucky 😂

      Probably would not stay again in August but it fitted with when I had to take my holiday, and the rest of our Spain itinerary. I’ve also wanted to visit Seville and the Alfonso for a while now and we missed out last year.

      But yes, I am now a mad dog 😂

        Only the two nights for us, breakfast and dinner included so looking forward to it as missed out last year as well!! Let’s hope we don’t pass out from the heat 🥵

      Stayed for a week earlier this month, and got a good upgrade despite being a lowly Gold. Didn’t ever make it down for breakfast but overall I was very happy – staff were great, and had a lovely time despite the heat!

    Does anyone have a BA email contact? I tried calling and the automated system asked me to contact BA via email form their contact page. I couldn’t find it. Phone lines are busy and query isn’t urgent. Thank you.
