Stay at The Sloane Square Hotel in London for just £99

Rooms are available for £99 including breakfast. It quotes a typical rate of £273 which seems about right. This is exceptional value for money. I mean …. the Colbert restaurant opposite would probably charge £99 for two slap-up champagne breakfasts without giving you a bed for the night ….

Stay for two nights and it drops to £180, which is just £90 per night.

I have walked past this hotel probably 1,000 times but never actually seen the rooms, although I have eaten in the Cote brasserie. The location is astonishingly good. You are directly on Sloane Square, at the intersection of Kings Road and Sloane Street. For shopping, it doesn’t get any better.

You also literally 30 seconds from Sloane Square underground station, which is on the District and Circle lines. (The Travelzoo website says it is five minutes away – in truth a tortoise could make it in five minutes with time to spare.)

Peter Jones, the flagship John Lewis store, is virtually your neighbour. Harrods and Harvey Nichols are 15 minutes walk away, assuming you have any money left by the time you’ve made it up Sloane Street. The Saatchi Gallery is 2-3 minutes walk away and the South Kensington museums are walkable in 20 minutes, or take the tube one stop.

  They treat PJ as the flagship. Not the biggest but the classiest. Oxford Street is nothing special.

    I worked for the Partnership for many years and Oxford St is always referred to as the flagship. But do agree PJs is a classier and nicer store and of course in a much nicer area of town.

      Peter Jones is almost not a John Lewis experience. Considerably nicer experience. Their cafe on the top floor has nice views from some of the small window tables and is a good place to arrange to meet friends – not sure if it’s back open yet though

  Peter Jones has different stock to the rest of JL and is definitely the premium store. I’m not sure why anyone would want a flagship store in Oxford Street which is pretty grim.

Don’t have Instagram, and not inclined to join up merely for this competition.

But what other benefits might there be ?

More HfP competitions / articles / flash announcements that may be time critical to be routed via Instagram first or exclusively in future ?

With email and the Interweb on my laptop plus WhatsApp & Telegram on my smartphone, I feel like I have enough already, but am open to considering sensible counter arguments.

  Twitter is where you get first notification of HFP announcements. It’s the only thing I use it for! Oh, and a Marriott promo that ran ages ago. Personally I haven’t found any need for Instagram yet…

  This one is Insta partly because we have the Virgin Red comp still open for another week and we don’t want to have two running at once on the site. Priority Pass wanted theirs now because the special offer on the cards ends on 31st.

Keen to see if The Vamps end up releasing any tickets via seat filling sites for a token fee before judging the value of the redemption! I’m not convinced that there’s much chance of them selling out that venue!
