The HfP chat thread – Thursday 5th August

We are running this daily chat thread on Head for Points during the coronavirus outbreak.

Historically, the daily ‘Bits’ articles were the de facto repository for random comments and questions.  With the news flow being lighter, we are running fewer ‘Bits’ articles.

The comments under this article are where you should post questions about travel and, indeed, anything else on your mind.  At this tricky time, and given that many of you are at home, we want the HfP community to have a place to chat.

Please only comment under the main articles on the site if your comment is directly related to the topic of the article.  This has long-term benefits as it keeps the commentary relevant for people who read those articles in the future.

Old chat threads are hidden from the HfP home page.  If you want to look for something in an old thread, click here.  This brings up all the articles in our ‘General’ category which includes the chat threads.

Bit if a bonus on the Hilton offer, Mrs S had a spa day at a DT Hilton in a forest that smells of pine. I’d speculatively saved the offer and have had the email saying she’d used the offer. Hopefully it will credit in the normal way.

So I went to active my partners NHS app to get the vaccination certificate and it asked for identity proof. Uploaded passport, anyone know how long this takes? Says can take 24hrs to 7 days.

Any other way to get Vaccine proof for Greece?

    • ChrisC says:

If I remember it took about 4 days when I did it a couple of months ago

      When do you travel?

You could also apply for the printed letter. That took around the same length of time but that included a weekend when I did it.

        This weekend. Any other options?

Maybe try a new account and use your NHS number if u didn’t already. Adults that used NHS number didn’t require verification in my limited experience

    • MW says:

You may have a problem here as you are leaving very little time. Printed letter won’t get in time now. You can try phoning 119 and see if they can expedite the match?

Assuming you don’t run into other issues. For example, after I uploaded my passport, I still had to get a code from my GP.

I think this was because my NHS record used a short version of my legal name so they didn’t match, so unless you have the same issue, you should be OK. You won’t know until passport this through though.

Pre travel announcements, my accounts where I added surname to search for account required manual verification took less than 24 hours. Good luck

    • Mco says:

Update. Sent off the documents that they asked for and haven’t got a email back yet but managed to download the certificate by logging in with the same account online.
