Historically, the daily ‘Bits’ articles were the de facto repository for random comments and questions. With the news flow being lighter, we are running fewer ‘Bits’ articles.

The comments under this article are where you should post questions about travel and, indeed, anything else on your mind. At this tricky time, and given that many of you are at home, we want the HfP community to have a place to chat.

Please only comment under the main articles on the site if your comment is directly related to the topic of the article. This has long-term benefits as it keeps the commentary relevant for people who read those articles in the future.

Hilton have introduced confirmed connecting rooms during booking. This will presumably be helpful to some families. I’ve always found requesting connecting rooms to be quite hit and miss.

  There is a lot to be said for doing a full tour of the grounds before deciding, top to bottom, then head back to one you like the look of. They are far less crowded than normal years. Most places tend to look a bit like school canteens unfortunately.

      To add, I wasn’t clear about the calculations in that article, eg. it says a £239 return provides 13.8p per point, but £239 / 1000 = 23p value.

        239-32=207/1500(peak pricing) = 13.8p
        
        I think where it gets confusing is Rob then switched to off peak pricing for 2/3 months out as I assume he thought there would be “off peak” redemptions available that far out.

        The value is when you actually come to use them compared to possibly losing them altogether because they have expired.
        
        500 points getting you even say a £5 discount is surely better than not getting any value from them at all. Sure £50 is better but £5 is better than nothing
