News: citizenM sale now on, Shangri-La launches new ‘double points’ promotion

citizenM sale now on
We don’t cover citizenM hotels much on Head for Points, since they don’t offer a loyalty programme or miles in any airline scheme.
The chain is growing strongly, however, and it now has 20 hotels including three in London and one in Glasgow.
Those who use it seem to have a level of enthusiasm which is rare amongst hotel brands. We reviewed citizenM New York Times Square as part of our ‘My Favourite Hotels’ series last year. We are hoping to try one out for themselves very soon to see what the fuss is about.
citizenM is running a short sale. It ends on 4th July.
They have kept it simple:
- all rooms are discounted by 20% from the standard rate
- you can cancel for free until 2pm on the day of arrival
- you can book for any date up to 31st December

Shangri-La launches new ‘double points’ promotion
Shangri-La Hotels, which includes the Traders, Kerry and JEN brands, has launched a new double points promotion.
Once registered, you will receive double Golden Circle points on all stays until 31st August.
Golden Circle points can be used for restaurant or bar credit, or for free stays. Whilst you can also convert points into airline miles, Shangri-La has dropped its partnership with British Airways and has never had one with Virgin Atlantic.
Unlike the similar promotion last Summer, the offer is NOT valid on restaurant and bar spend without a stay.
The offer will double-up with the current ‘double elite nights’ promotion running until 31st July, which gives you two qualifying nights towards status for every night you stay.
