Time running out to claim free Dell products via Amex Business Gold and Platinum

Links on Head for Points may pay us an affiliate commission. A list of partners is here.

If you have American Express Business Platinum or American Express Business Gold, you are running out of time to claim your free Dell products.

As a reminder:

  • Business Platinum cardholders get £150 of free Dell credit per year – £75 to spend between 1st January and 30th June and £75 to spend between 1st July and 31st December – apply here, review here
  • Business Gold cardholders get £100 of free Dell credit per year – £50 to spend between 1st January and 30th June and £50 to spend between 1st July and 31st December – apply here, review here (this card is FREE for the first year so it really is £100 of free money to spend at Dell)
Dell American Express offer

You MUST opt in via this page of the American Express website.

If you also have a standard American Express cashback offer for 10% back on Dell spending, make sure you register for that too. It will double up, so you actually get 110% of your spending back up to £50 / £75. This is what I got when I bought some items back in March:

What should you buy?

The Dell trade site is here. Dell Outlet and the personal site also seen to work.

Laptop deals:

Dell is best known for its XPS range of laptops. You can see details here.

There are decent discounts on the new 2021 range at the moment:

  • XPS 13 – £123 off at £756 + VAT
  • XPS 13 2-in-1 – £180 off at £1,108 + VAT
  • XPS 15 – £290 off at £1,659 + VAT
  • XPS 17 – £396 off at £2,432 + VAT

Accessories:

If you don’t need any IT equipment at the moment, take a look here at the Accessories section.

Dell sells a range of laptop bags, briefcases, messenger bags, laptop sleeves and backpacks – see this page of their website.

You might find something here to use with your statement credit. Remember that the prices shown exclude 20% VAT so if you want 100% of your costs covered you want an item selling for less than £42 + VAT if you have Business Gold or £63 for Business Platinum. Delivery is free on most items.

Dell also has a decent range of mice, keyboards and monitors which will work with all computers, not just Dell models – details here.

If you really don’t need anything, consider buying non-electrical items (backpack, laptop bag etc) and donating them to a local charity shop. They should sell for a decent amount if still wrapped and you may be able to get tax relief on the sale price.

One thing …. ensure that the items you choose are in stock for immediate despatch. When you look at the delivery date, you will see that many of the items advertised are not actually available for a few weeks. You need something that is in stock to ensure that your Amex Business card is charged by 30th June.

Thanks Rob, didn’t realise Business Amex had that Dell credit, and I’ve just got myself a monitor with 3yr warranty for £32! Can’t argue with that!

There is one Jo Malone candle (lime basil & mandarin 200g) ‘like new’ as originally boxed on Amazon warehouse, it falls under the 30pc off prime day deal in case of interest to somebody. Shows as £62.62 but will be £43.83 at checkout.
