We are running this daily chat thread on Head for Points during the coronavirus outbreak.

Historically, the daily ‘Bits’ articles were the de facto repository for random comments and questions.  With the news flow being lighter, we are running fewer ‘Bits’ articles.

The comments under this article are where you should post questions about travel and, indeed, anything else on your mind.  At this tricky time, and given that many of you are at home, we want the HfP community to have a place to chat.

Please only comment under the main articles on the site if your comment is directly related to the topic of the article.  This has long-term benefits as it keeps the commentary relevant for people who read those articles in the future.

    Anyone else received their final May avios from the now replaced Llyods acios card? They usually post on 14th of the month but nothing yet

      Yes but mine posted on 2nd June with a 31st May transaction date (makes sense as that was the last day you could earn)

    Anyone having problems with their Radisson Rewards Acount today? Tried to log in, got a request to re-set my password, did so, logged in, ALL MY POINTS HAVE VANISHED OVERNIGHT!!!!

    Hoping this is ‘just’ a mega-cock up by Radisson because of the forced US/RoW split hich happened overnight but cannot get through to them right now so very disturbing 🙁

      I just checked it and the same, my account now showing 0 points. Hope it is just a temporary glitch. I didn’t have that many points, but enough for a free night in an average hotel…

        Same here, my mighty balance of 3 points worth approx £0.01 have vanished.
        On a related point, my Wyndham points expired despite a promise expiry had been paused. An email resulted in same-day restoration.

    Have got an Avios booking that I’m going to cancel due to Covid. Previous FTVs with avios attached i[ve had to phone up to rebook which has involved long wait times. Are BA now offering FTVs that you can just book online?
    I know cash based ones are fine for booking online but wasn’t sure about Avios..

      I’m pretty sure you still need to call. BA holidays are much better for making the process easier and less painful, but BA itself will be hoping as many people as possible don’t get the chance to use those vouchers!
      I’m not planning on even trying to call to use mine until next year.

    Quick question re amex plat car rental insurance

    Few years ago, I remember there was an exclusion for rentals of luxury cars or super sport cars or something like that- I even remember there was a list of car brands excluded

    I went through the fine print now and it looks like there’s no such exclusion at the moment. There’s an exclusion for things like off road or racetracks but it looks like you can rent whichever car you want and amex would cover your excess if you damage it (assuming it’s within limits)

    Has anyone had any experience with amex plat with regards to a claim for a high end car?

      I seem to remember the car has to be less than £50k. Has that clause disappeared?

      it now says i think cars up to the value of £60,000. that should cover a wide range of luxury card

    Cancelled BA ticket and opted for FTV. Can we view the FTV in our BA account? Does it appear like the companion voucher?

      Unless BA change it to an evoucher, you will need to phone up to use it. Best you keep a note somewhere of its value in terms of ££/Avios?2-4-1 voucher.

    Am I being thick, or does the amex website no longer show you how much you’ve spent towards the companion voucher for the BA card?

      It’s always been fiddly. Appearing and disappearing at random!

      Sometimes you can see the tracker, sometimes you can’t. It’s buggy. Try on the app too.
