  I’ve just heard BA Cityflyer is starting new routes from Belfast City to Leeds, Exeter, Newquay and Glasgow. Great news for us in NI. Its been over a decade since I flew BA Cityflyer. I take it its just like standard BA when it comes to Avios and tier points etc?

    Dodgy memory so forgive if not right. Something like a balance transfer offer I wasn’t interested in at all, 1% Kashback for 6 months, interest free for a year on purchases. No persuasion needed, choices were immediately offered when I said I wanted to cancel.
    If the USA opens the FX free with the small kashback is good as I’ve switched almost entirely to reservations rather than prepaying for hotels and cars.

    Also, was quite happy to keep card as it’s my oldest card, and I think it’s generally accepted that one long term card is a good thing on credit report.

  Visiting the Langley at Iver in a couple of weeks for the first time. Apart from dining in the hotel what local options, if any, would you recommend for breakfast/lunch/dinner

    We ate dinner at the Red Lion in Stoke Poges, it was great.

    We had breakfast at the cafe in the park, not so great – reheated bacon/sausage so would recommend elsewhere

    From when I went a while ago the cafe in the park was good – the Langley park tea room. We weren’t able to find a pub we liked within walking distance – lack of pavements as well.

  Telegraph reporting that double-vaxxed will soon not have to quarantine from amber countries. I’m not a subscriber, so can’t read it, but link here I think.

    Yep, big news.

    Officials are drawing up proposals that could allow people who have had both Covid jabs to avoid having to quarantine on their return from amber list countries.

    The change would effectively turn amber countries green for the vaccinated, opening up the possibility of quarantine-free travel to most major holiday destinations in Europe and the US.

    Many followers ask what the June travel timeline looks like:
    24th-no changes to green list
    28th-first milestone review to say those fully-jabbed won’t need to self-isolate from amber countries.
    This will finally follow #US and #EU. Changes to take effect late July. At last! 👍

    No favouring pensioners as all over 30’s will be eligible for their second jab by late July…

        They had to give away something to detract from the Cummings drama ! and Matt Hancock’s popularity isn’t being helped either. I have holidays booked to both Portugal and Greece in July and being fully vaccinated, cant wait

    If these plans are indeed in the early phase as stated, it’s hard to see how anything is going to realistically be in place for the summer, especially as airlines have now cancelled flights up to the middle of July. The main school summer holiday season begins in 5 weeks and they haven’t even started to discuss whether they are going to exempt children from the requirement to be vaccinated!

      If they exempt kids and those double vaxxed from end July, who will be left? Only the anti- vaxxers and some in the 18-25 age group. The latter will be done by end August.

      Airlines can start a new route and fill a plane at the drop of a hat now. Passengers will be beating their door down. They’re a lot more agile than before the pandemic.
