    Yes, the rules. I’ve no idea how well they are enforced but I wouldn’t risk an issue over it.

    None of it makes sense and it seems to be a way of banning travel but allowing rich people to travel.

  If you return from an amber country and enter quarantine in your home, do other members of the household (who haven’t left the country) also have to quarantine for this period?

    No they don’t.
    Logically that doesn’t make sense as for true protection against the spread of covid, you should either be isolating separately or other household members isolate with you, but the rules don’t require them to isolate.

      It depends because they say there isn’t a 0 Covid plan in the U.K. so you are limiting the risk especially with testing on day 2 and day 8.

      Yet here they are talking about a delay to 21st because a few 18-35 might get a little sick

      It makes perfect sense to me. A household contact is a step removed from the traveler.

      If you develop symptoms, they isolate.

      It’s about striking a balance

    worked in the past. As their readership is international they even seem to be quite relaxed about someone ringing them up with an established print edition subscription whose work is moving them to another country

  Since Memesweeper is asking for bed and mattress recommendations, I thought I would jump the gun and ask for some duvet recommendations. 😉

  We are looking for a duvet which isn’t too warm, so a tog value between 7.5 to 10 would be perfect. Any recommendations?

    A nice silk duvet is very comfortable. You can get a couple of different togs to add together so you have summer and winter and in between.

      You all need a proper lambswool duvet like those made by the blanket factories in Spain. Keeps you warm in winter and cool in summer.

      I have the John Lewis one that’s really two with poppers so you can join them together. Both together in winter, the thinner one on its own in summer, the thicker one for a few weeks in autumn. Would definitely recommend, though if you’re other half is a Carrie I suppose JL is out of the question now.

    Look at Brinkhaus for bedding. Had a two part duvet from them for years (can be combined/split for winter/summer); very pleased.
    Have had a Vi‐Spring mattress for same length of time, very pleased with that.

      Pressed send too soon. To add: bought mattress after stay at a Hotel du Vin many years ago and has such a comfortable and good night’s sleep that striped the bed back to find out who made it.
