  Hi all, does anyone have any experience of gaining permission for Compassionate Entry and Limited Release from Quarantine for Canada as a foreign National?

  A friend of mine has a mum in an induced coma following a traffic accident and are having real difficulty getting from London to Canada (BC).

  Any help or advice at all much appreciated.

    They really need to be dealing with the consular section of the Canadian High Commission in London.

    Your friend could also try contacting their or their mums Federal MP.

  Stayed at Andaz Liverpool Street- modern room, service excellent, felt welcomed, Prosecco on arrival, another chilled bottle in the room, Wifi super fast, free minibar, cooked breakfast could be better, seamless bellboy service. Two drawbacks (that can’t be changed): room ceiling height & view. Overall great product & will be back.

  Hoping to utilise Hyatt Amex offer (no email so far) but billing was bit of a mess. obtained paid at check out invoice & screen shot saved Amex offer …. Fingers crossed

    Do you have any status? I’m staying next weekend and it’s my first status less hotel stay in ages.. not expecting any perks but would be a nice surprise if they do upgrade etc.

      No status, didn’t have room upgrade unfortunately. Otherwise very responsive staff, as mentioned not into the red (that came w large suite rate) so they added bottle of bubbly.

  Hi I remember I think in Rhys piece about Lisbon he said there was a better app/ service than Uber for that area but can not now find it

      In Spain typically go for Cabify. Can’t resist earning avios on every ride + it’s generally comparable or cheaper vs Uber

          Super cheap here – I have been given 60% off all my rides this week. Paid £3 for one this afternoon.

          Drivers make Uber drivers look like geniuses though.

  Need an advise from the experts.
  Managed to push though the last £1k for BAPP these 2 days before the last day tomorrow. All are being shown in pending, however just noted that the economist subscription fee made on 10th has gone missing from the list (got a screen shot being shown as pending yesterday). Should I be worries if not being shown or would it mean I will have £200 short fall from £10k. TIA

    If you’re anxious about it just buy £200 of Amazon credit if that’s somewhere you shop.

        If you don’t want any more Amazon credit you could “buy” something off a mate with PayPal backed by your BAPP. You’d have to take a hit on the PP fees though to make it look legit. Personally I’d do the Amazon because there’s no transaction costs, the credit is good for 10 years and there’s almost zero default risk. Or take the risk that you might miss your bonus. Up to you though mate.

        Just double check. It doesn’t show on the main page but click on the statement and activities it can be seen showing there as pending along others. Take a screen shot and finger cross everything is going as planned.

        Thanks to Yorkie’s Amazon suggestion, which I will bear in mind next time.

      Thats partly why I cropped a bit that included “I dont think it will happen” 🙂 My take on the gist of the article was that the sky would fall in on Britain due to the travel restrictions and that might lead to BA being spun out because the European part of the business will do just dandy because everything there is back to normal.

      But it got me wondering, if the other (albeit smaller) sister airlines do all return to profitability and this is wiped out by the English airline does it make sense for IAG to push BA into administration? BA loses its long standing pension liabilities to the state Pension Protection Fund and IAG can forget about the debt racked up over the last year. At what point does it become logical for IAG write it off and let Doyle run “New BA” owned by the current creditors?

      Under normal circumstances offloading your pension liabilities on to the taxpayer wouldn’t really cut it with the public but right now they might have some sympathy.
