Fly to Hawaii, business class, earning Avios and 640 tier points for £970 return

Some very, very low business class fares to Hawaii – and indeed the United States West Coast – have appeared today from Paris.

This is a very quick article so you will have to do a bit of digging yourself if you want to take advantage (I am on holiday, in theory), but here is an example from Paris to Honolulu for January 2022.

EDIT: As at 10.30pm, the deal appears to be almost dead, at least to Hawaii. It seems that it will work if you can get ba.com to show a routing via Helsinki, eg Paris – Helsinki – USA.

Here is an example from ba.com, where you can book this deal even if it doesn’t have a British Airways flight anywhere:

This is €1,131, so £970. Can’t say fairer than that ….

In terms of tier points, it would earn:

• CDG-LHR – 40 tier points
• LHR-LAX – 140 tier points
• HNL-LAX – 140 tier points
• LAX-SEA – 140 tier points
• SEA-LHR – 140 tier points
• LHR-CDG – 40 tier points

That’s a total of 640 tier points for £970, plus a holiday in Hawaii.

The ‘dream deal’ would be finding a way to book it as Paris – London – New York – West Coast – Hawaii. This would earn 920 tier points because you would have three business class flights of 2,000+ miles in each direction.

Check carefully that ALL flights book into Business Class.
