We are running this daily chat thread on Head for Points during the coronavirus outbreak.

Historically, the daily ‘Bits’ articles were the de facto repository for random comments and questions. With the news flow being lighter, we are running fewer ‘Bits’ articles.

The comments under this article are where you should post questions about travel and, indeed, anything else on your mind. At this tricky time, and given that many of you are at home, we want the HfP community to have a place to chat.

Please only comment under the main articles on the site if your comment is directly related to the topic of the article. This has long-term benefits as it keeps the commentary relevant for people who read those articles in the future.

Those who’ve been able to bring forward their second vaccines, are you doing this via NHS.uk? I have logged in tonight, having had Pfizer 1 today, and it says:

“You are not currently eligible to book through this service. If you’ve already had your first dose of the coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine at a GP surgery or hospital, contact them to book the second dose of the vaccine.”

I’ve already had my first dose, but not at a GP surgery nor hospital; and I already have my 2nd booked, but at a different location from the first.

Bit odd / annoying; anyone had the same?

  The advice from our local surge vaccination popups is to wait 24 hours before logging on to the NHS site to book your second dose, so I’m guessing you’ll be able to book when the system’s been updated to show you’ve had your first dose.

Talking of offers, I stupidly misplaced my BA free card this weekend so froze it on the app and I doubt I’ll find it so I’ve replaced it on the app. I was looking at the offers just now and realised that around 20 relevant offers I had have all disappeared. Will someone reassure me they will re-appear once my new card arrives?

It looks like Amex introduced pay now option for FHR bookings and it shows as Amex Travel, so triggers the £50 offer.

  Assume this is only for Amex Plat, then? I know in the US they have issues with earnings loyalty points on prepaid Amex FHR bookings vs pay at checkout.

    Yes, only for Amex Plat, but maybe also for Gold via Hotel Collection? Good point about loyalty points. A friend of mine triggered it, not me. It could work well for independent ones though.
