Virgin Atlantic delays St Vincent and Grenadines service

Unsurprisingly, Virgin Atlantic has had to push back the launch of its latest Caribbean route.
From 23rd June, it was due to become the first European airline to fly to St Vincent and the Grenadines in the Caribbean.
The first flight has now been delayed until 13th October. I’ve told Rhys that I’m taking any launch press trip for this one, although it is worryingly close to half term ……
It is still planned as a twice weekly service as a tag onto the Antigua flight. It will use an Airbus A330-300 with 31 Upper Class seats (the old style ones, not the new suite), 48 Premium and 185 Economy seats.
As Virgin Atlantic said at the launch:
“With deserted white sand beaches, St Vincent offers the quintessential Caribbean getaway. The island also serves as the gateway to the Grenadines, a collection of 32 islands and cays full of yacht-filled harbours, chic private isles, coral reefs and dramatic volcanic landscapes offering the perfect escape for those in search of a luxury break, eco adventure, scuba diving or sailing voyage.”
