We are running this daily chat thread on Head for Points during the coronavirus outbreak.

Historically, the daily ‘Bits’ articles were the de facto repository for random comments and questions.  With the news flow being lighter, we are running fewer ‘Bits’ articles.

The comments under this article are where you should post questions about travel and, indeed, anything else on your mind.  At this tricky time, and given that many of you are at home, we want the HfP community to have a place to chat.

Please only comment under the main articles on the site if your comment is directly related to the topic of the article.  This has long-term benefits as it keeps the commentary relevant for people who read those articles in the future.

    Not sure if anyone has any advice. Had 2 x 2 avios companion voucher ( 4ppl via 2 accounts/ 1 household account) bookings for June 3rd to miami which have been cancelled.
    Phoned ba and asked to change. CSA cancelled 1 booking despite me asking for a date change! Got refund email while on hold and said this is not what I asked for. He tried to changed dates but came up with no avios availability so he said he only can move flights 14 days. I asked him to check with supervisor, and hence agreed re 1 year change of dates rule; but said as he had refunded there was nothing he could do. Did ask to speak to supervisor but CSA said they don’t with “complaints/ escalations” and I need to put it as a written complaint which I have done.
    The call recordings should back me up. Should I at this stage move the other 2 tickets to my preferred dates or wait for ba to respond. Can I take the matter further if they won’t resolve?

    Seems that BA @ Heathrow incorrectly denied boarding to Gibraltar travellers today and yesterday ‘because no one updated the computer’. People denied boarding due to no proof of residency etc.

        This mornings flight! and those denied today were told others were sent packing yesterday too. The more I think about it the crazier it is, for an industry trying to take to the skies again – to fail to act when things finally open up!

    Anyone remember how long does enrolment to Hertz takes to reflect elevated status via Amex Plat? Guidance is 15 business days but was hoping for testimonies with earlier results…

    I have a flight this Friday in club Europe from Heathrow to Belfast. I have read that the first class lounge is currently open to business class passengers. Can anyone confirm if this is the case? Also, does this mean we can check in through the first wing as well? Thanks

      Depends on the time of day I think, off-peak times only the First lounge is open and then yes, normally ineligible customers can use that lounge and the First Wing.

      Yes you can use the lounge, not sure about First Wing check in though. Careful, some people on here don’t believe CE/CW/Silver passengers are privileged enough to use the First Lounge…

    Eurostar has obtained £200m from it’s shareholders (£50m) and £150m from banks and restructured an existing £50m of loans for a total of £250m
