We are running this daily chat thread on Head for Points during the coronavirus outbreak.

Historically, the daily ‘Bits’ articles were the de facto repository for random comments and questions.  With the news flow being lighter, we are running fewer ‘Bits’ articles.

The comments under this article are where you should post questions about travel and, indeed, anything else on your mind.  At this tricky time, and given that many of you are at home, we want the HfP community to have a place to chat.

Please only comment under the main articles on the site if your comment is directly related to the topic of the article.  This has long-term benefits as it keeps the commentary relevant for people who read those articles in the future.

    Has the IHG flash sale started early?
    Literally every IHG booking I made between end of this month through to end of August has dropped in price.
    Bookings at HIX, HI, CP, Indigo and Voco – all a fair bit lower now.
    I think the points prices have also dropped, but can’t confirm for sure.

      Thanks Aston 100 – I have just checked, cancelled & rebooked a July stay saving £30 on my original 3 night booking. I’ve been checking prices weekly since I booked about a month ago and they’d gone up quite a bit so it has to be the flash sale pricing

      One of my bookings dropped on Saturday but I think that was too early for it to be a sale drop

      None of the others have changed yet. Will look again in the morning.

    Anyone else having issues with lack of Customer service from Hotels.com? Absolutely abysmal!

      It might be better if we started a list of companies that are giving consistently good customer service.
      The comments here and elsewhere suggest everyone is bad at present.

      I suggest to reach out via Twitter. After going back and forth in the emails for a week, Twitter team sorted an issue in a day.

    Do non-USD purchases on an ICC dollar card accrue points? Looking at my points this month vs. purchases, points seem to be missing for a small ~$10 charge in non-USD (yes, yes aware of the 3% FX fee…).
