  Nothing doing on my Hyatt booking for 3 nights during the period. Tried to rebook today and the rate is the same and there is no mention of free breakfast on the booking.

  My Amex offer for Hyatt specifically states that it must be ‘checkout spend’ only, and that ‘online spend’ is not included. So it doesn’t sound like the Hyatt sale will work for the £100 cash back since it requires pre-payment.

        They’re all charged by the hotel (the only hotel group that charges centrally is Hilton in the USA)

        The T&Cs on most Amex offers don’t match reality.

          Depends how the hotel presents the payment. They should be including a flag for ‘card present’ or ‘card not present’ – obviously if the offer has been set up correctly it could easily be tracked this way. I don’t know if it has though!

          Technically I can walk out at the end of a stay for faster checkout and my card is charged but it was but a CNP charge.

          So I doubt it’s ever coded that way

  I played with the Hyatt sale rates last week at a couple of properties – best I could find was a 10% discount over BAR so blatant false advertising from them here…

      Actually i’m going to take that back. Maybe I was too quick last time round but a full 30% being offered off the BAR now at two properties I’ve checked.

        I booked the Manchester Hyatt last week. The sale isn’t as good as what I got last time, 6 wood per night more for breakfast included

  IHG have started asking for paying up front again on cancellable bookings on some properties. Also, the IC O2 has started charging £60 per night per adult for any more than 2 people sharing a room which will make their suites more expensive!

      Lol, that would be a bit mean in December, however it’s actually worked out cheaper to get two rooms rather than a suite, and I managed to make the magic standby upgrades appear for lounge access at £50 per night!

          Click on the View More Reservation Details link in your confirmation email. It always shows. Or log off and back in while viewing your booking on IHG.com.

          I found different offers sometimes appear depending on the method used.

          Or if all that fails, get your OH to log into their account (if applicable) while on the reservation details page. It then shows their account with your booking details! (IHG IT is something to be marvelled at). I’m currently toying with an offer of a $1000 pn night suite at the IC Boston for $230 pn (on a standard Emyr booking). It’s tempting but we’re not actually going to be spending that much time in the room … !

  I’m struggling to find much availability in Hyatt’s UK properties. Birmingham seems to have some availability, but could find any in West Wales or Cheltenham, for the dates I was looking at.

        I’m not a fan of Birmingham. The grand is probably best in the city now.

        Think Rob reviewed Manchester when they were IHG hotels.

        HR and Great Scotland Yard are both nice in London.

    Sad about Sheffield Utd. Never been to Yorkshire but love teams that have come up through more traditional means (hard work and team spirit rather than outside money buying all the good players). Fingers crossed for Barnsley.
