The HfP chat thread – Monday 19th April

We are running this daily chat thread on Head for Points during the coronavirus outbreak.

Historically, the daily ‘Bits’ articles were the de facto repository for random comments and questions.  With the news flow being lighter, we are running fewer ‘Bits’ articles.

The comments under this article are where you should post questions about travel and, indeed, anything else on your mind.  At this tricky time, and given that many of you are at home, we want the HfP community to have a place to chat.

Please only comment under the main articles on the site if your comment is directly related to the topic of the article.  This has long-term benefits as it keeps the commentary relevant for people who read those articles in the future.

Old chat threads are hidden from the HfP home page.  If you want to look for something in an old thread, click here.  This brings up all the articles in our ‘General’ category which includes the chat threads.

Does the old curve + virgin mastercard still work for ATM cashwithdrawal?

  • Chrism20 says:

Email from Accor flogging the Virgin Wine offer on one of yesterdays post. £65.88 for the 12 bottles, 2 glasses, free delivery and 400 Accor points. Also includes the wine bank blurb

I think I found a way to avoid requirement of booking tests on 2nd and 8th day..
Here it says that if we transit through UK landside we don’t need tests:

So anyone arriving in LHR can book cheapest possible ticket from STN and simply don’t fly. I don’t recommend it, just highlighting issues..

Goodness, how could anyone even contemplate such an awful thing! 🙂

      • peter says:

Money reason.. if your nearest test centre is hours of drive, you work from home and likely to stay there for 14 days without leaving, or simply do NHS tests for free. Obvs this probably goes under these hefty fines of £££££ or 10 years imprisonment..

First time getting a 241…. What’s the easiest way to tell when it has transferred to your Exec club account? Hit target last week, but can’t see anything showing up / no email confirmation?

    • Aston100 says:

In your executive club page, scroll down to ‘my evouchers’

  • Secret Squirrel says:

Anyone received their clubcard points bonus for taking out pet insurance from the latest promo yet? I’ve just made my 3rd payment on the policy.
