Earn 2,000 Virgin Points with a £66 Virgin Wines deal

Virgin Red, the new app-based company which lets you earn and spend Virgin Points from non-flying activities, has launched a partnership with Virgin Wines.

Virgin Wines had partnered with Virgin Flying Club for a number of years, so this is not an entirely new offer.  It is still worth a look if you have not taken advantage before.

Virgin Wines used to be part of Laithwaites which runs most of the mail-order wine clubs under different brands, including British Airways Wine Flyer, but was sold to its management a few years ago and recently floated.

For £65.88 (standard price £132.88) you will receive:

• 12 bottles of wine (a white, red or mixed case)

• a bottle of prosecco (the website is badly written – is this included as part of a 12 bottle case – “every case includes a bottle of beautiful Italian bubbly” – or is separate, giving you 13 bottles?)

• 2,000 Virgin Points

….. all brought to your door with free express delivery.

If you value the Virgin Points at £20, you are paying £46 net for 12 or 13 bottles of wine, including delivery, which is clearly excellent value.

As part of the offer, you are signed up to the Virgin Wines WineBank programme.  To quote:

WineBank uses easy monthly top-ups to save for your wine and rewards you with £1 for every £5 you deposit, plus free delivery on all future purchases. There’s no obligation to buy any more wine. The bottom line is that you can easily cancel this, but it will require a small amount of effort.
