Earn 2,000 Virgin Points with a £66 Virgin Wines deal

Links on Head for Points may pay us an affiliate commission. A list of partners is here.

Virgin Red, the new app-based company which lets you earn and spend Virgin Points from non-flying activities, has launched a partnership with Virgin Wines.

If you are not already a Virgin Red member, you can register – free – here.

Virgin Wines had partnered with Virgin Flying Club for a number of years, so this is not an entirely new offer.  It is still worth a look if you have not taken advantage before.

Virgin Wines used to be part of Laithwaites which runs most of the mail-order wine clubs under different brands, including British Airways Wine Flyer, but was sold to its management a few years ago and recently floated.

We are also covering an Avios wine deal today offering 2,000 points – check out our other article. It is a cheaper package but you only receive six bottles.

The new offer is here.  You will also find it inside the Virgin Red app.

For £65.88 (standard price £132.88) you will receive:

  • 12 bottles of wine (a white, red or mixed case)
  • a bottle of prosecco (the website is badly written – is this included as part of a 12 bottle case – “every case includes a bottle of beautiful Italian bubbly” – or is separate, giving you 13 bottles?)
  • 2,000 Virgin Points

….. all brought to your door with free express delivery.

If you value the Virgin Points at £20, you are paying £46 net for 12 or 13 bottles of wine, including delivery, which is clearly excellent value.

As part of the offer, you are signed up to the Virgin Wines WineBank programme.  To quote:

“By redeeming this offer you agree to try the Virgin Wines WineBank. WineBank uses easy monthly top-ups to save for your wine and rewards you with £1 for every £5 you deposit, plus free delivery on all future purchases. There’s no obligation to buy any more wine. Your default monthly payment is £25 which you can change on Virgin Wines’ website. You can cancel your WineBank membership at any time and withdraw any funds you’ve added. Offer is unavailable to existing WineBank members.”

The bottom line is that you can easily cancel this, but it will require a small amount of effort.

This offer is strictly for new Virgin Wines customers.

If you are already a customer, or don’t want to join WineBank, there is a separate offer available.  You can earn 1,000 Virgin Points with the purchase of selected 12-bottle cases (white, red or mixed) priced from £108 to £130.

You can find out more on the Virgin Red app. If you are not already a member, you should register first here.

  • Ian says:

It only contains 11 wine 🍷 and 1 fizz

    • Robert says:

Yup, 12 bottles total based on counting up “what’s included in your case”.

  • Amanda G says:

Agree, looks (and reads) 12 bottles to me too. Have to admit it’s a good deal. Had a similar offer when I joined about 3 years ago. I intended to cancel mine once I got the points but tbh, I really like the offers and the wine selection.

  • ChrisW says:

The frustrations I’ve had with these wine case offers in the past is that you can’t choose the actual varieties of the wine other than red, white or mixed. This means you are likely to end up with some styles you don’t really like. If the only white you really like is something drier you will probably end up with one or two that are quite sweet.

    • Andrew (@andrewseftel) says:

Their wine advisor service has been pretty good in my experience. They’ve been able to tweak mixed case offers to my preference (and also wiggle on price).

  • Sam says:

No easy way to cancel the monthly payment, you have to email them. It lets you change your payment or pause it but no obvious way to cancel online which is a bit shady in my opinion. Deal is good otherwise.

  • Nick Burch says:

Accor have just emailed me the same Virgin Wines offer, but from them it comes with 400 accor le club points. Link to view / buy is https://collections.accor.com/en/food-and-drink/virgin-wines-uk
