Today I want to look briefly at how you can earn Avios points when you book airport parking.
British Airways launched a new parking partnership with ParkCloud in 2018. There are two separate products you can book via the BA / ParkCloud site:
Parking only
What is new with the ParkCloud partnership is that it is NOT just UK only. As well as allowing you to book parking at 19 UK airports, it also covers much of Europe, Canada and the USA. If you find yourself needing to prebook airport parking in, say, Hamburg, it can be done very easily.
You will earn 5 Avios per £1 spent on parking. You can book via the BA-branded ParkCloud portal which you will find here.
Parking with a hotel
You can often get excellent deals on airport parking by spending the night before your flight in a local airport hotel and paying a small extra sum to leave your vehicle in its car park.
(IHG loves this concept so much that it has a special website devoted to UK and European ‘airport and hotel’ deals at Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza etc properties.)
ParkCloud and BA are offering ‘hotels with parking’ deals at 14 UK airports.
You will earn 5 Avios per £1 spent on ‘hotels with parking’ packages.
Both ‘parking’ and ‘parking with a hotel’ packages can be booked via the same page BA-branded ParkCloud portal which you will find here.
Valet Parking
You can also earn up to 250 Avios on pre-booked Valet parking at Heathrow Terminals 3 and 5, as well as 5 Avios per £1 spent when you pre-book a meet-and-greet parking service at a UK airport other than Heathrow.
Surprisingly, the valet offer is probably less generous than either booking with Park Cloud or a pre-booked meet and greet, since those scale with the amount you pay whilst the valet parking is capped at 250 Avios per transaction.
The valet parking offer is outlined on this page of ba.com.
And, if you decide to take public transport instead, this article shows how you can earn Avios with Heathrow Express!
