Today I want to look at whether you can use Qatar Airways lounges if you have a British Airways Silver or Gold Executive Club card.
Lounge access is one of the perks that many people aspire too when the travel. Nothing beats escaping the crowds of a busy terminal and settling down with some free wine or champagne before a long flight.
Your entitlement to lounge access already depends on what status you hold, even with British Airways’ own lounges. British Airways Bronze members are not entitled to lounge access whilst Silver and Gold members are.
Executive Club Silver status is the equivalent to oneworld Sapphire tier, allowing you to access the oneworld equivalent business class lounges. This includes Qatar Airways business class lounges.
British Airways Executive Club Gold card holders, being equivalent to oneworld Emerald, can also access Qatar Airways first class lounges.
However, at its hub in Doha, Qatar Airways also has exclusive business and first class lounges for ticketed passengers travelling in First on Qatar Airways or oneworld partners, such as British Airways. These are not open to oneworld status holders – you must by flying in First and have a corresponding boarding pass. However, these lounges are in addition to its “standard” business and first lounges, which you will still have access to. You can read a review of the super-premium Al Safwa First Class Lounge here.
It is also worth noting that Qatar Airways does not allow status card holders travelling in Economy to use the Qatar Airways lounge at London Heathrow Terminal 4. You will be given access to the SkyTeam lounge instead.
