  On balance I’m pleased at the ECJ ruling. While it’s quite a stretch for tour operators to be expected to monitor the behaviour of hotel employees, this might go a way to promoting issues of equality and diversity. My sister went on holiday alone to Tunisia a couple of years ago and was continually harassed by one of the hotel staff, including being phoned and texted by him as he had got her contact information from the hotel computer system! I told her to make a complaint to the tour operator but don’t think anything ever came of it.

    Anna I disagree at the ECJ ruling not because for that case, i just don’t see how any travel operator could possibly prevent something like that happening
    Even though its devastating to the person (plus sorry about your sister)
    What i would like to see fetched in is the death penalty for such obvious cases
    or if people think that’s to extreme, castration and jail
    I have a grand-daughter who was raped at 16 on way home from school about 6 years ago.
    The B******d got away with it majority verdict, police didn’t want to know until a 20 year old married woman came forward as well

  Submitted the form for the Status Match back in December 31st – just before the situation in the UK deteriorated really badly – but did not go ahead with it in the subsequent months which I’m glad as these current months would have eaten into the year long validity with no opportunities to travel at all.

  Keep getting calls from TAP agents to do the match , but ‘m holding off until the very last moment – but not too late for it to be pulled.

  Also true, but BA selling this are not a Travel Agent, they are the Tour Operator.

  Not really. BA selling you a flight and hotel makes it a package holiday under the scope of U.K. rules.
