Up to 2,000 free Nectar points (1,250 Avios) just for opening the app

An odd Nectar promotion appeared on Wednesday morning in the Nectar app.

When you open it, you may (or may not, most people have it but not all) see this:

Click on it. You get a very short marketing message about the value of registering for weekly Nectar bonus points offers via the app.

Once you’ve done that, you will receive a mystery bonus. I got:

….. but readers have reported bonuses as high as 2,000 Nectar points (1,250 Avios). My wife only got 250, so it varies substantially.

The points post immediately.
